We gathered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a board meeting and expected a comfortable, safe, and well-prepared property, particularly given that members traveled from multiple states. Unfortunately, the stay did not meet these expectations.Several basic essentials were missing, requiring us to purchase items ourselves despite the cost of the stay. We also experienced ongoing issues involving a neighbor, including complaints over minor matters without clear communication, which caused unnecessary stress and required significant time coordinating with the property owner.Additionally, some board belongings, including cigarettes and a lighter, were not returned, and it remains unclear how these items were handled. We encountered multiple maintenance, housekeeping, and safety concerns, including an unusable bathtub, a flooding sink, insufficient cleaning supplies, very low beds, and bathroom safety issues such as the absence of grab bars and shower mats. A poorly visible step into the living room also presented a tripping hazard.Finally, the tone of the house policies felt overly focused on warnings and penalties, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and we hope these concerns are addressed to improve future guests’ experiences.
