Lovely well-equiped house in a very quiet location

Very good location with a lot of good-quality equipment. Owners give a lot of advices for shopping and knowing the area. Very good spot to travel around (Cairgorms, Carthes Castle, Aberdeenshire...). Very quiet .. the only neighbours who made noises were the sheeps :-). We spent a wonderful week there.

Terrific Stay

Wonderful cottage in a great location with which to explore the Cairngorms. The cottage itself was clean, bright, easy to find, and had everything you could need. Check in was easy and the owners were very helpful and communicative. Most everything you could need is in Ballater, a couple of miles away, including a grocery, petrol station, health center, and a number of restaurants and pubs. Walks are available right outside the door and only about a 20 minute drive to Lock Muick, which was one of the highlights of our trip. We had a terrific stay and would absolutely book again. Five stars!

Truly Fabulous

A magnificent property that fully lived up to expectation. Ideally suited for visits to Ballater, Braemar, Balmoral and Deeside as a whole. The options for walking with our dog were endless….. he had a fabulous time as well. The garden was safe and extensive. Need to thank Dan for making sure that we were properly prepared for Storm Babet. We will return.

Ballater Holiday

Great place to stay, great location, and lovely and friendly hostess that provided us with freshly laid eggs. We have visited Ballater many times but never stayed in the area and it was well worth the wait. Great to have the large enclosed garden for the dogs. First self catering holidays that have provided Glencairn glasses to drink my whisky out off, first class. Hope to go back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our new year stay at Croft Mill. Great wee property half an hours walk into Ballater Town centre. We were lucky to get 6 inches of snow the night we arrived. Made our stay a little bit magical! Thank you!

Het huis is voorzien van alle comfort en stijlvol ingericht. In de omgevingen kun je mooie tochten maken. Ballater is een gezellig dorp met leuke horeca en winkels. De crofts mill is een aanrader!

Beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay at Glen Muick. It’s within easy walking distance of lovely, sleepy Ballater, and a 40 minute scenic ride on the SnowRoad to Glenshee ski centre. The barn was well equipped and warm!

A Hidden Gem in Royal Deeside

Crofts Mill is a stunning converted Mill which sleeps 6 in the way of 3 bedooms, 2 en suite and the other downstairs has access to the main toilet. It is a quirky building over 3 levels but very spacious and it has been finished off to a very high quality inside, in the way of kitchen and utility room appliances as well as the living room including a Denon sound system. The beds are super comfy and the sheets are quality and spotless. Again it was all quality complimentary toiletries that were used in all the bathrooms and shower rooms. The mill has an excellent large south facing large mown lawned garden (also secure for pets) with a slabbed outdoor seating area to allow you to enjoy the quietness of the beautiful countryside where this property is situated. The owners Dan & Claire stay in the large house adjacent to the property and were on hand to meet and greet us but we had no reason to contact them during our stay as everything with the property was first class. There is so much to see and do in the area by way of stunning walks and cycle ways but you can find that out when reasearching the area. This review is simply of Crofts Mill and its surroundings and I can assure you if you are fortunate enough to stay here you will definately not be let down with all aspects of the property, we will definately be back, thanks again for a fantastic stay.

Clean tidy. All facilities present. Perfect quiet location, with easy access to village providing good local amenities. Nice walks from the cottage if you don’t want to travel. Stunning scenery. Deeside in the sunshine. Who needs to travel abroad.👍👍👍

Excellent staycation

My wife and I stayed here for a week. It's a fantastic, quiet location with a lovely small town of Ballater nearby. There are plenty of dog walks and amenities locally. Our hosts gave detailed advice about wildlife viewing locally. Spacious, well-equipped and comfortable accommodation. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Cannot Wait To Return

I would recommend this property to anybody who wants to get away from the normal hustle and bustle of life. Wonderful location with lots of beautiful walks within a short driving distance away. Very quiet and tranquil. House is well equipped with everything you need for a great trip away. Cannot wait to return.

Amazing holistay 2020

Just returned from a fantastic week. The weather was amazing all week but this location would be great in all weather. The cottage is just as advertised, was beautifully clean and well equipped. The garden was a great space for our puppy and for boules and garden tennis. The location in Ballater lets you explore some wonderful walks, and we hired bikes from Clare and Dan's shop on the last day and a doggie trailer to cycle part of the Deeside way. We had a really great time. Thank you.

LlKE HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Really homely feeling to the place no trouble settling in at all even for the kids. Lovely quite out of the way location but not to far from local shop ect to make quick trip for supplies. Communication between owners was spot on we had no Internet when we arrived contacted dan and clare and clare was round within 10 mins to fix the problem . Locals in the town are really friendly and welcoming we had the traveling cinema arrive the day after we arrived but no tickets available but the organiser very kindly asked if me would mins help setting up and in return give us some free seats kids loved frozen 2 and on Christmas week was perfect.We will definatly be back at some point.

Lovely cottage in beautiful area

The cottage was exactly how we pictured it and perfect for our needs. Everything was well in order and any questions where quickly answered by the owners. Highly recommended. We also discovered the area which is really beautiful, perfect for walking and not too far from castle and whiskey trails.
