„This was one of the worst nights stay we had, even for £34 I don’t recommend staying here. Location wise, it wasn’t bad if you drive. Cleanliness was something to be desired. The place stunk, really fowl like sweaty socks. Beds were noisy as hell, doors very squeaky, paint coming off the wall, dirt on the walls, shower filthy, bathroom stunk, holes in the floor boards, the list goes on. „We have enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay, the location was spot on only 2 minutes to Lake Windermere and the ferry landing point. Colin is the perfect host, very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and looked after us well. Breakfast was a lovely; full English in a cosy setting. The room was fine with all amenities. It was our birthdays whilst there and Colin decorated the room, these touches are most appreciated. Definitely recommend 10/10“

„My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean and lovely, the staff were friendly and kind, and the breakfast was very filling and delicious. Also, the hotel has spacious parking, and it is not too far from Windermere station, the lake, or many restaurants and shops. Each is about a 10-15-minute walk away. "Every aspect was great. Just a small trouble with unloading luggage as there is not much space to park if the spot is already taken. Also, from the hotel welcome message it feels like they will help unload luggage but you do that on your own. They have good amenities but not so easy to find information about it, like access to private beach or availability in Spa. Overall, I enjoyed the stay a lot and loved the swimming area and steam/sauna experience."

"The historic building is fabulous, the atmosphere great, it's the pole position in Windermere, great view on the lake. I wonder if it is necessary that during the summer season the building is under construction. With scaffoldings in front of the windows, some parts of the building beside the entrance in bad condition, and even a corridor we had to pass everyday was stuffed with furniture, cardboard boxes ... This is not the atmosphere for holidays. Due to repairs on some wires, the internet connection broke down every night. The location is great, but there's some work to do to bring it back to its standard. "
