„We had a wonderful stay in the Cart Lodge cottage. Location was perfect - easily accessible from the main yet very quiet and secure with plenty of parking. Cottage had everything we needed - including very comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen (we cooked multiple times) and a cozy sitting room. Best feature: the sheep! Loved watching them from the window and feeding them digestive biscuits in the morning. We would definitely stay again.“

„We had a lovely stay at Amelia Cottage while visiting family in Battle. Such a nice and warm welcome from the owner. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. The garden is lovely and well maintained with many flowers. The location is perfect, it is close to the playground and to Battle High Street. The local supermarket Jempsons is only a few minutes walk away and that was also very handy. We will definitely book again!“

„An idyllic, peaceful spot and a well appointed, clean and cosy cottage/annex.The track leading to the accommodation was a little tricky to navigate owing to some significant potholes, but picking our way up to the property was well worth it. Pauline was incredibly welcoming, without being overbearing, and it was a joy to meet her dog and horses. The quiet, rural views were wonderful to wake up to!“

"Das The View Hotel ist mit Abstand das Beste und modernste der zahlreichen Hotels entlang der Seepromenade von Eastbourne. Fast jedes Zimmer hat einen Balkon und die Aussicht von dort über Strand und Pier ist einfach phänomenal. Die Zimmer sind in der Regel modern und zeitgemäß eingerichtet, wobei das Mobiliar in einzelnen Zimmern sicherlich ein Update erfordert. Dennoch bekommt man für den Preis insbesondere außerhalb der Saison kaum etwas Besseres in Eastbourne geboten. Wer dagegen eher auf klassische viktorianische Hotels steht, der ist hier fehl am Platz."

"Ganz wunderbare Menschen in diesem Hotel und die Lage ist hervorragend. Leider für den Preis recht veraltete Zimmer in eher desolaten Zustand. Die Sitzgelegenheiten im Erdgeschoss sind zahlreich. Aber es gibt kaum Möglichkeit bequem zu sitzen und tagsüber eine Tasse Tee zu genießen. Kein Service, Restaurant außerhalb des Frühstücks geschlossen. Erst wenn die Bar abends aufmacht kann man an winzigen Tischen sitzen und etwas trinken. Dadurch ist es in dort auch tagsüber wie ausgestorben. Renovierung und ein pub täte dem Hotel gut. "

"The stay was very disappointing. The “wheelchair-accessible” Junior Suite was unusable, the room was dirty, old, and damaged, and we had to pay extra for another room. Expedia’s description was misleading, and the overall experience was far below expectations. "

"Das Hotel war sehr schön, nicht zu groß und perfekt, um sich wohl zu fühlen. Parkplätze befinden sich direkt vor der Tür. Die Zimmer sind sauber und ruhig. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen und das Frühstück, welches aus bestellbaren warmen Gerichten und kontinentalem Frühstück in Buffetform besteht, ist vielseitig und sehr gut. Die Lage ist toll, man befindet sich an einem Park am höchsten Punkt der Stadt. Bis ins Zentrum sind es nur wenige Minuten."
