This property was seemingly set up for maximum discomfort. Least comfortable beds any of us have ever slept in that produced extremely loud noises with every slight movement. Dirty or moldy mattresses and baseboards in bedrooms. Very uncomfortable couches, and the deck/ walkway to home were in disrepair and had nails sticking up. Mold in and around windows/ AC units. Septic smell when outside the property. No screens in any of the windows. Not a single baking sheet provided in the kitchen, and basically no glassware, and only one dish towel (for a house that sleeps 11). No surface cleaning product provided by host. To be fully transparent in this review: we did appreciate the relatively low price point (for Fire Island), that a full propane tank was provided for the grill, the provided beach chairs, and that a 7th night was included in the booking which is not typical for Fire Island. We had a hunch that there may be some less than ideal conditions based on the AI polished photos in the listing, but even still, the conditions in the house were far worse than expected. The host also provided the incorrect house number in his message with check in instructions. No idea how/ why.
