I booked this room on June 5 for the July 4th weekend, a full month in advance. I specifically chose it because it included a hot tub and a full kitchen. When we arrived on July 3rd, we walked into the room only to find someone else's belongings already inside. The property had double-booked the room. After contacting the host, we were moved to a much smaller cabin with no hot tub or kitchen, forcing us to return the groceries we had purchased to cook during our stay. We were then told we'd have to move to a different property the next day because the cabin was booked for July 4.After multiple emails and lengthy complaints, the host refused to speak with me by phone. At one point, they told us there were no rooms available for July 4 and that they would simply refund our money, leaving us with nowhere to stay on one of the busiest weekends of the year, when every other hotel and rental was already fully booked. The next day, after more emails, they changed their story and said we could stay in the smaller cabin after all—but still refused to offer any discount or partial refund for the amenities we never received. The only compensation offered was a free stay on Sunday night, which was useless since we were already leaving. We paid nearly 400 for a room with a hot tub and full kitchen, yet received neither. What should have been a relaxing Fourth of July getaway turned into a stressful and disappointing experience due to their booking error and poor customer service.
