Check in was easy. They sent pictures of the door, the codes to enter and gave very specific instructions. We were able to find it with no problem. Second floor apartment but there was an elevator available. The lighting in the entryway when first entering the building was very poor and we had to use flashlight on our phones to see the steps.
Entering the apartment was fine, no problem with the codes to enter. Large bathroom with washing machine! We had been traveling all day and all 4 of us used the toilet. Unfortunately, it was not working and not flushing at all!
2 bedrooms, 1 was larger with TV. Husband sat on the bed and the wooden slats holding the mattress were broken. He sank to the floor! These were obviously already broken because when we lifted the mattress there was wood on the floor. Mattress was very worn and we rolled to the middle.
Texted the owners who responded quickly. He arranged for a handyman to come over. The gentleman did not arrive until after 7 pm. He was able to fix the bed and rig the toilet so it would flush if we poured water into it with a bucket they provided. He left telling us that he would return the next day to fix the toilet correctly.
We did not hear from the handyman and he did not return the next day.
Upon checkout I texted the owner again to ask for a partial refund or discount. The person responding to the text message said that they would check with "collegues" and get back to us. They never responded.
