We are Summit County locals who rented this property for 3 nights for our elopement. Although our stay was generally pleasant, there were a number of maintenance and housekeeping issues we discovered over our stay that were terribly disappointing.
The first thing we noticed upon arrival was that only the larger of the 2 garage doors was in working order- the smaller garage door chain was completely off the track making it unusable. The downstairs carpet was covered in stains- we took photos to document that we had not caused this damage. At the time of booking, the VRBO post listed a hot tub as an amenity, and we chose this property over another because of this addition; however, upon arrival, we found that not only was the hot tub not in functioning order as advertised, but the exterior doors to enclose the hot tub from the backyard were not even installed, completely exposing this section to the outdoors. This created a cold draft at night so we had to lay down a blanket along the inside of the door. This door also did not lock properly, making the home insecure as the door lead directly outside.
The kitchen floor was covered in dirt and food. The back deck was also littered with garbage, food, and cigarette butts. There were absolutely no cleaners anywhere in the house, not even a simple disinfectant spray. This made cleaning up challenging, especially with the current COVID pandemic.
The toilet in the upstairs shared bathroom leaked everywhere upon flushing. The window crank in one of the upstairs bedrooms was broken and the screen was lying on the floor. The towel rack in the upstairs ensuite was loose on the wall, so we did not use it to avoid further damage.
The VRBO listing stated there were plenty of extra towels and linens, however this was not the case- there were tons of extra pillows but very few towels and no additional linens. We had a guest on the pullout couch downstairs but had to makeshift bed coverings out of random blankets.
We contacted Summit Rentals during our stay regarding these issues but were asked to forward a list to them via email- they did not want to discuss the list over the phone. After a few email exchanges over the course of 2 weeks, we were offered sincere apologies, a partial refund of the cleaning fee, and (1) night stay.
We would not recommend renting this unit until these issues have been completely addressed, and will not be renting from this company again.
