« Loved the secluded location within walking distance of the southern end of Lake Windmere. The cottage was smart and very clean, and well equipped, but we were stumpted on how to adjust the settings on the upmarket oven (a manual in kitchen drawer would have helped). We found that we had to be vigilant about the step in dark slate floor between bedrooms and kitchen/lounge (we used a bit of white cardboard to visually remind ourselves.) Had a great stay at The Bothy, we highly recommend it »

« This is a little gem in the heart of a village Highly recommend to everybody, restaurants pubs shop and beach all within minutes of the cottage’s property was spotless clean and lovely and warm , met the family over the course of four days all very nice with plenty of smiles every time you see them Very dog friendly with many lovely walks around the area »

« This is an excellent house in superb state of repair with very good quality furniture. It is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The booking process was simple and Martin Wardle of the agents was extremely helpful. The house is situated in a village which is very near Kendal, the lakes and just over one hour to the Solway coast. There are some very good dining places in the area with our favourite being The Watermill Inn which has its own micro brewery producing very tasty beers. All in all...

Perfect location, perfect views, in fact, perfect in every way - from the roll top bath with the stunning views to the well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge with log burner and lulled to sleep by the gentle waves. A short walk to catch the Ullswater steamer and then into Pooley bridge for great restaurant choices. We’ll be back! »

« We have recently returned from a 4 night break at Tawny cottage. Already knowing the Keswick area well we knew Portinscale would suit us well - outside the bustle of Keswick but within easy walking distance down a nice path, and easy access to local country walks. The cottage was immaculate in both cleanliness and decor - and well equipped - with off street parking. Our adult daughter had the 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds ( would have been a perk if was 2 singles which could be set up as a King...

« We had a lovely few days in this quaint cottage. There is everything you need and very close to the village pub, where they let us park our car, as not really ideal outside the cottage. Will definitely return if we go back to the Lake Distruct. »

« Roslin is a lovely house in an excellent location for accessing Keswick and surrounding fells. The house was clean and well equipped. The garden is lovely and there are beautiful views from all aspects. Parking on site. This was our third stay and I would happily recommend and hope to return again in the future. »
