"Cracking hotel "

"Honesty, 5 stars all around, and I am a hard marker . Very friendly host, a married couple. A hotel , but without a doubt that 100% feel of been invited and totally welcome into their home. Full of history and I love all the furniture and decorations. We had what I can only describe as a boat room , give you a feeling you on a boat, it was fantastic. (2 small faults, but I did not let this effect the 5 stars as it was such a delight to be there. The queen size bed is made up on two single beds and in middles there is definitely a clear separation, but wont matter if you just sleeping only. The other thing was the wash basin , two small and as the tap was rigid, affected the area space to wash. But that aside, 5 starts all around . I understand that each room has it own history and themes, so I certainly will be putting this place on top of my list next time I visit Calais. Ambrose and Irina "

"We have stayed in the Metropole many times on the last night of our holiday. New to the room was a kettle, tea & coffee. A good from us. We particularly like staying here, because there is a locked garage, so we feel safe leaving things in the car on our final night in France."

"For a budget hotel it was great for what l needed. Cheap and cheerful with lovely comfy bed and a terrific shower that properly blasted away the night before but, BE AWARE that this hotel is NOWHERE NEAR central Calais. It is basically designed for truck drivers and is out on a limb by the motorway and a 40 MINUTE WALK from town 😥"

"Was here in a quick work trip. Rooms were comfortable. Great lobby area. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was excellent."

"I wish there had been a bike shed. Although fairly small there was room for them. I wish we had been on the ground floor. A great value for a great location - close to city gardens and the spectacular Hotel de Ville."
