I got here after everyone checked in. And they could not stop singing the praises of this home. We do a staycation every year and this is by far the best choice we have ever made! Communication with owner great and kind. Parking easy. The train and traffic was our only concern coming in and it was not an issue. Maybe because of the elevation it was not a problem. The home was so well appointed. Anything we could even think we needed it had. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels. Kitchen amazing. Games. Appliances. Laundry you name it, they have it! Views were incredible. Sunsets amazing. The stars! So clear! For a beach front property it’s in great shape. Not one note of improvement. My friend said I wish we had an apron. Really that’s not even a request. That’s amazing. We might make this the place we return to every year! We are sucking every last minute here. We have 4 minutes to check out and this deck is hard to leave. Thanks again and again.

Second time staying here

We always VRBO when we visit San Diego, and this is our first time staying at the same home two years in a row, which should tell you everything you need to know about how great this property is. The location, amenities, and views are excellent, and the fact that you and any visitors have available tandem off-street parking is a nice bonus. The only minor concern we would raise to other travelers is that you are somewhat at the mercy of the guests in the separate unit above, as you can hear every step they take- the first year we stayed here, that unit was unoccupied, but this year we could definitely hear the very active guests above us, so we might consider renting the top unit instead next time. Installation of an outdoor outlet for electric car charging would also be a great amenity for the owners to consider adding!

Lovely 21st birthday week

I came to this house with my two daughters the day after my husband's memorial service. The three of us needed to get away, and the younger daughter had been asking for a year for a California 21st birthday. The house is lovely, as nice or nicer than what the photos show. We each had our own bedroom. All the beds and furniture were very comfortable, nice linens, very well equipped kitchen great views. We had great meals in nearby restaurants, enjoyed the beach, and took our rented car to San Diego one day for a spa day. Only downside of the trip was that we did not mask on the plane on the way to CA (first time in several years) and all three of us came home with Covid!

Perfect Location

Had a great stay at this property with my family. The location is perfect for a quick trip into Encinitas, and is walking distance from Cardiff and the local shops. I would recommend renting the top unit as a first choice to avoid the sound of footsteps from a group above you. Would 100% stay again!

Great location, amazing property!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Surf View Bungalow! The property was immaculate, fully stocked with everything you could need. The access to beach gear was a huge plus, exceeded our expectations by far! Gina was quick to respond to any questions I had while we were there. This was truly a wonderful experience. Those views? Amazing! We spend quite a bit of time in San Diego, and are definitely planning to stay here again.

This property was not only beautifully decorated, but it’s in the perfect location. We were able to walk to restaurants, bakeries and a supermarket. Seeing dolphins from the balcony was just an added bonus. We would love to come back!

Paradise in Southern California

This property was gorgeous! The views and access to the beach, walking, restaurants...was just perfect. Open the windows and the coastal breeze is awesome! Take some binoculars and you can see birds, sea lions and dolphins in the morning passing by. It was a very cool thing to see. There is another level on top that is available for rent as well. I will be renting the entire home in the summer for my wife and I, and our parents for a little family vacation.

Amazing Ocean View

This was our second year hosting a west coast family Thanksgiving, and this property could not have been more perfect for the occasion. The views are stunning, the kitchen is spacious and extremely well-stocked (better than my own!) and there was plenty of room for six adults to enjoy a large meal (and hours of football on the adjacent t.v.) Cardiff boasts an amazing market (Seaside) and coffee shop and local bakery. Encinitas, just a mile in the other direction, is full of dining and shopping options. The coastal trail, for walking/running is steps from the door…as is a solid surf break. Gina is an impeccable host. She answered my call on the first ring! We definitely plan to book again.

Wonderful Getaway
