The host, Richie is a really nice guy, that wants you to enjoy your stay. Having said that he needs to do a little maintenance if he wants repeat customers. My first time there was in the fall of 2020. It's a very rust nostalgic place, but over the years it's becoming a big run down. This was my third time there and I will continue to return. At least one more time. A bit of a disclaimer though: in all fairness he was hit by a pretty bad Ice storm this past winter and is working really hard to get things in shape.
It was a sweet little cabin. It could use some restoration of exterior. The shower was dirty. We were unable to shower in the morning of our overnight stay.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and if going back to the area would stay again. The bathroom definitely needs to be updated. we also noticed that some of the roof shingles were missing.
Great little waterfront cabin! We stayed for a long weekend of playing on the water. Access to the inland waterway is only 20 minutes away. Mackinaw only 10 minutes, and a good boat launch right next door. Rustic cabin charm was awesome. Reminded me of Canadian fishing trips with my dad.
Rented (4) cottages for a family reunion. All worked out great! Campfires at night, smores, pontoon rides during the day. Close to many northern and U.P attractions, making day trips easy.
Old to young alike just loved the place and atmosphere.
Great sunrises, sunsets and star gazing at night. Highly recommend.
Right on beautiful Lake Paradise with dock and screened in porch. Very quaint and had everything we needed. Will return as soon as we can. Great food across the street at Clyde's Place and just down the street at Harbor Light's Grill. Both in walking distance. A little peace of paradise.
Very rustic. Fun place to stay. Wish the bathroom was updated, but everything worked and was fine. Great location to use as a base to visit UP locations and the Island. Beautiful sunrises over the lake. Highly recommend if you like rustic places with great character!! We would love to stay there again!!
We stayed 1 night in October. My only complaint is that you can hear every little sound. We kept walking up because screen doors were banging. The property owner did hunt me up a fan, which helped, but we didn't sleep great. Regardless, I absolutely recommend. I bet it's a great spot in the summer.
This is the perfect place to stay for a nice weekend reset or if you're planning a trip to Mackinaw City or the Island. Clean, Quiet, Friendly and all the comforts of home.
Felt very safe- and BEAUTIFUL location. The bedroom I stayed in had a window overlooking the lake- so I just rolled over to keep an eye on how the sunrise was changing and went outside to photograph at the perfect time. This is not a fancy place- but clean and very beautiful. Very easy to get to as well.
This was a wonderful property and my family and I enjoyed it very much! The owner is kind and welcoming and made us feel right at home. We really loved the view and the comfortable beds and furnishings. My sons really enjoyed being able to have a campfire outside our cabin, right on the lakeside! Although there needs to be some painting done, all in all, this was a wonderful place to stay and we are very happy to have stayed there. We'll definitely be back next year!
The cabin is rustic but so charming and was perfect for a quick get away up north. It was just minutes from Mackinaw City and Wilderness State Park. Kitchen had everything we needed. We cooked dinner over the fire pit and it was amazing! Would stay again.
