We had a wonderful family vacation and appreciated the chance to spend quality time together in this spacious home! The location on a quiet cove is peaceful and scenic, and we loved using the dock, kayak, and stand-up paddle boards. The large dining tables were perfect for family meals, the living room provided plenty of comfortable seating, and the ping pong table added to our fun. The two kitchens had ample space, making cooking for a large group much easier.That said, there were some challenges to be aware of: the HVAC system was not working when we arrived and it was extremely hot. The management company was very responsive and brought over temporary window units but temperature regulation throughout the three floors was still difficult. The advertised beach was unfortunately not usable due to fallen trees and logs, which was disappointing as we had hoped for easy water access. The electrical wiring in the kitchen is also problematic—you can’t run the microwave and toaster at the same time without tripping the fuse, and a maintenance person must reset it. Finally, the afternoon sun blazes through the large living room window onto the deck, and there are no blinds to provide shade.Overall, this is a great house for a large family gathering and has many enjoyable features. Even though it feels a bit “in rental condition” the management company was extremely responsive.

Spacious home on quiet cove

We had 14 people, ages 15-85, on a family vacation at this home. The main living areas were spacious for everyone to enjoy and gather. The lower level was great for the young adults to have their own area for ping-pong and hanging out.The cove was quiet - we have stayed in other places on the lake where there are houses all around the cove, but this spot is not developed on one side so it was especially quiet. Property managers were great about communicating. When we arrived, there was only 1 SUP although the photos showed 2, and they delivered us a 2nd one the next morning to make sure we received what was listed.

A memorable

Was impressed with the facility and the quality from silverware to bedding. We had 13 people counting one child 11/2. Cooked out Saturday night and it was so nice that it accommodated all very easily. Young men enjoyed the paddle boards also.

75th Birthday with 5 grandchildren and 4 kids with spouses. House was well equipped and great location. Only issue is how the HVAC system operates. Rather than heat separate floors horizontally the system heats vertically which results in bottom floors were heated unevenly and with kids it was far too cold. They were good enough to bring out a space heater which made things better. Instructions should alert people as to how the HVAC system works.

College Graduation Family Vacation

Great Family Property

Great location and lots of room for a big family/extended family gathering. Large common areas yet many private areas for when everyone needs a break. Easy check-in/check-out process. Excellent communication before, during, and after our stay. Would highly recommend!!

Ladies lake retreat

We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay at the property. It was conveniently supplied with soap in the showers and sinks. Nice toilet paper, paper towels and even towels to use after a lake swim! Stand up paddle board and kayaks were an added bonus! Definitely recommend this property for a seamless getaway.

Perfect Spot for a Family Reunion!!!

Lovely house on Lake Norman, perfect for a recent family reunion weekend! Comfy beds, nicely equipped kitchen, and exceptional customer service from our property manager, who was available immediately with a reply to any question i had. We would definitely consider a return visit to this property!! (PS: Very small nitpick: Only 1 upstairs Bedroom En Suite had a garbage can. The rest of us had to make do w Publix bags. Property could benefit from addition of BR & BA trash receptacles😉...other than that.. PERFECT!!!)

Hot In Heaven

My family had a surprise birthday party for my 80-year-old aunt. Prior to securing this property, this information was shared with management. We were informed that this would be allowed in the day but that a large number wouldn't be allowed to stay all day. At that point, I rented a 2nd home around the corner which most of us stayed after the celebration. It was very Hot in the home. HVAC was called and we were told that the unit wasn't put together properly and that some vents were not connected. He was going to ask management to bring in portable fans. After contacting management, we were told that they were informed that doors, and windows were opened and we had more people than allowed which is why it was so hot. This was not true. I follow all rules given and even got permission to have an event during the day. The house was Beautiful. Not the cleanest upon check-in but I am on the Advisory board of a Travel Agency and the way that our concerns we met with excuses is unacceptable.

Great house that comfortably accommodates large groups

We had a group of 14 stay for a long weekend. Two people brought boats so we were able to enjoy the lake without a boat rental. The house was immaculate and very modern. Location-wise, it’s a bit out of the way (by road of course, there’s a lot within boating distance), but we knew this when renting as a few of us are from the Lake Norman area. Overall, everything was great and we may choose to stay again for our next annual trip.

Impressive Large Lake Home - we loved it!

We had a friends reunion in this home at Lake Norman including 4 families with teens ranging in age from 13 to 19. Home was large and the perfect size for our group of 14. All the teens stayed in the basement & loved the kitchen & ping pong table. We loved the lake toys (paddle board and 2 kayaks) and we rented the very nice (Bentley) pontoon boat for 3 days. Morgan Allen with Lakecations was very pleasant and excellent to work with.

Great location with lots of amenities!

This property was amazing! Very clean and exactly as advertised. It even had zippered allergy mattresses and soft, premium plush bath towels! I truly recommend this property!

Sibling Reunion Weekend

Family gem on the lake

This home was a great getaway for family meeting from four states. The calm creek/slough behind the house made you feel far away from everything. We loved the little beach, swimming, boating, kayaking and boarding on the lake. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed. The remodeling was beautfiul and comfortable. We loved the area and hope to return. -fantastic property-

Everything you need to take it easy

This house was really amazing and accommodating. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO type homes and this one stood out from the rest. The home looked beautiful in the pictures and surprised us all when it was even better in person. You can not beat the amount of bathrooms the house had. It had everything we needed, even the little things cooking ware, sponges, hand soap. The kayaks, paddle board, dock, little private beach suited everyone's needs for relaxation. The provided firewood was so nice. The smart TVs automatically signing out of your accts after your stay, just pure accommodations. Communication with the property manager was so quick and they were so pleasant. Check out was a breeze!!! We had a wide range of ages and everyone was happy. I can't imagine someone being unhappy with there stay at Knotty Pines.
