Best idea--having a dark, Make-up washcloth. Glad to have specified cloths for wiping off shoes and the convenience of having everything labeled. Breakfast was always diverse and wonderful. Ernesto was so helpful with ideas and websites and directions.

Ernesto the owner was top notch! There was a bit of a snafu with a broken propane line during our stay, causing the b&b to be sans hot water. But honestly, it was fine. With such a relaxing atmosphere, stunning scenery, and quaint eclectic accommodations, who even needs hot water?! He prepared a wonderful breakfast that was traditional for the area-the mexican hot chocolate is to die for! The grounds are nice, the room was clean, and it was just an adorable one of a kind experience. Thanks also to Nancy for finding me a fan for white noise. Yes, it's almost TOO quiet and without a TV in the room, I needed a little fan to drift off to sleep. The linens and mattress were soooo comfortable. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

Wonderful experience for our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast. Although there was a full house, the area was quiet and felt like home. Barbie served a delicious breakfast and was very courteous and welcoming. Will definitely return!

Perfect Reset
A most delightful last moment, one night booking, absolutely perfect in every way. My sister and I stayed in the Alma room. All the finishing touches were clean, functional and lovely. Our host Barbi was super kind and helpful with all our questions, our stay, local information and mad skills in the kitchen. We dined on our delicious breakfast in the morning outside on the patio watching the huge array of hummingbirds. We left well rested and wanting for nothing but eager to return soon.

This is a very friendly, welcoming place. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room was sunny and nice. The room we had reminded us of a cruise ship- it was about as big as the queen bed. The WI-Fi was nonexistent and our carrier was too. Books and mags were nice

A GEM. My wife and I needed a little getaway/staycation after our busy holidays and Casa Escondida provided just what we needed. When we arrived, we were in awe from the beautifully maintained rural property, room/main house decor, kiva fireplace (we stayed in casita) , private patio, quality sheets, and Belinda’s generous hospitality. Especially the next morning, Belinda had fruit, coffee fresh made hot breakfast :) ready just for us. She was personable and very attentive, she made us feel comfortable during breakfast. Next time my wife and I will stay longer than 1 night to fully enjoy the peace we received from this authentic northern New Mexican B&B. Thank you Belinda, can’t wait to visit again, take care.

This was a very sweet place with lots of charm. Our room was small but very comfortable, especially the bed and charming. We did not mind that our private bath was just down the hall. Breakfast was very good and the staff is extremely friendly. This place had several people staying there, but I did not feel their presence at all. I highly recommend.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your 5 star review! Yes, we have a variety of room types available and at a variety of price points. Even our small rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Other rooms offer amenities like private decks, patios, fireplaces or a kitchenette. All of our rooms have private baths. The Wildflower Room is our only room that has it's private bath across the hall from the sleeping room. All of our other rooms have their private bath located in-room. It is surprising how little you hear the other guests. The main house is adobe and there is very little sound transfer. We are also glad that you enjoyed the breakfast. We hope to see you again. We are open all year.

Buyer beware!
Wildflower room. The private bath was advertised as a tub with shower. The valve was malfunctioning and almost no water would flow through the shower head. My husband, with thin hair, could hardly get the soap out of his hair so I didn’t dare wash my longer/thicker hair. We were supposed to be there for 3 nights but had to leave due to the lack of water. This ended up costing us a significant amount more due to the last minute need for accommodations. We were informed, from 2 different employees, that they were already aware of this issue, but allowed us to book the room without divulging the problem we would encounter. The gal working the kitchen took my cell number and talked to Belinda (owner), and assured us that Belinda would contact us that same day. We were only half way through our road trip so I made sure they knew they had to call my cell. We never heard from Belinda, and still have not seen a credit due for the remaining days. I had no problem paying for the one night stay but expected to be credited for the remaining amount that was not used. We arrived home today to find a voicemail on our home phone stating that we will be charged if we do not cancel the remaining days so they can rebook the room. This room was falsely advertised and has a severe water issue which should NOT be booked again until the valve is repaired. They did not call our cell and the message was not received until we arrived home. Therefore, we did not cancel with Hotels.com. Poor ownership!

What a lovely property this place is! We stayed in one of the casitas with our dog and it was so beautiful and perfect. The breakfast was unbelievably generous and delicious. We also had a great time sitting around the patio and talking with the other guests while enjoying our coffee/tea. There is a James Beard awarded New Mexican restaurant just 5' away for dinner too. Made for a perfect overnight getaway.

Thank you for your wonderful 5 star review. Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome at Casa Escondida B&B. When traveling with your pet, just book one of our pet-friendly rooms. The Rancho de Chimayo Restaurant is the James Beard Award winning restaurant that you mentioned (closed on Mondays). They have been serving there for over 50 years! Many guests are with us just to have dinner there. Very good and authentic New Mexican food. So glad that you enjoyed your overnight getaway. We actually have many guests that are from fairly nearby places, who are with us to do just that. It's quick, easy and enjoyable. We hope to see you again! We are open all year.
