Adjacentes à la maison du propriétaire, les deux propriétés peuvent accueillir confortablement 2 personnes avec la possibilité d'invités supplémentaires avec le canapé-lit dans l'espace de vie. Les poêles à bois donnent aux cottages une atmosphère chaleureuse et accueillante qui a un thème contemporain. C'est un bon point de départ pour explorer Essex et le Suffolk, observer les oiseaux dans les réserves naturelles à proximité, pêcher en mer depuis l'île de Mersea ou simplement profiter des plages et de la campagne locales. Près de Colchester, la plus vieille ville d’Angleterre avec son château, ses musées, sa galerie d’art, de nombreux vestiges romains, un bon centre commercial, le zoo de Colchester et une ligne ferroviaire principale reliant Londres (40 minutes). Mersea Island est à 12,8 km pour ses poissons et ses huîtres pêchés localement, ainsi que pour sa voile et ses plages. Les sites touristiques populaires de Flatford Mill, Lavenham, Finchingfield et Kersey sont facilement accessibles en voiture. Magasinez 4 miles, véritable pub de bière servant de la nourriture 300 yards.

Clean and cozy

Everything was as listed….the log burner was an added feature which we were happy to use on rainy days. The location was really goid… Colchester close and historically very interesting. North of the city was Constable country… nice walks and interesting info on the artists. South we enjoyed Tiptree museum, and the Salt marshes for walking and photography. Ovreall it was everything we wished for “

We had a lovely time in 2 Bay Tree Cottages.

We had a lovely time in 2 Bay Tree Cottages. It is compact and cosy but so well considered and equipped with everything you could need. A lovely sunny space with patio garden; great walks on the doorstop and only a short drive to the dog friendly beaches at West Mersea and Walton on the Naze. Colchester only a few minutes away too. We enjoyed a relaxing stay! The cottage is exactly as it is described.

We enjoyed a relaxing stay! The cottage is exactly as it is described. It is perfect for two plus dog. We found it warm, clean, comfortable and generously equipped throughout. The little sitting out area is pleasant, fully enclosed and proved safe for our dog. Local amenities were a good historic pub, just around the corner and the Heath giving us lovely walks for the dog right from the door. Trevor, the owner, is friendly and helpful - but not in any way intrusive. The locals are welcoming too! Interesting places to visit nearby; don't miss the charming Burnham on Crouch.

Absolutely fabulous cottage.

Absolutely fabulous cottage. Every little detail has been thought about from the welcome pack to soaps and shampoos. Have already booked to go back again. Cannot recommend this cottage highly enough had a wonderful few days.

All in all the cottage was very nice except for the sofa bed which was very uncomfortable to sit on

All in all the cottage was very nice except for the sofa bed which was very uncomfortable to sit on and if there were four people staying there was no fourth seat to sit on, but I would recommend the cottage to family and friends and would stay there again if we happen to be down that way.

Lovely wee cottage, just right for a few nights' stop-over for me to work (shooting a wedding locally) and taking the opportunity to catch up with family nearby. It is very cosy, beautifully kept and well equipped. It is also quite weeny, so I would suggest that whilst it's good for 2 adults and 1 or 2 younger children, the sofa bed downstairs is not ideal for 2 adults. The roll-together was hilarious and my husband ended up sleeping better on the floor. In fact, if there are four of you, just bring an airbed instead. To be fair though it's only because our children are a little older and needed the twin bed arrangement upstairs, so we drew the short straw with the sofa bed. Having said all that, it was just what we needed as we were only staying for a few nights. Quiet and pretty location with private off-street parking and easy access to both Tiptree and Colchester. I would definitely recommend it!
