Fabulous oceanfront views. Plenty of dolphin sightings by day and shooting stars by night. House was really nicely updated and very comfortable and warm for New Years week.

Magical and fabulous

My sister and I took our mother to the beach for her 90th birthday. The house was clean, spacious, and special for this special occasion. We weren't far from the wild horses. The dolphins showed up every morning. It was truly magical and the perfect place for us to honor our mother's special day.

The stay was good overall. The pool heat went out after day two and the staff was slow to send someone. I had to call after my text and 24 hours had passed. We rented this particular home because of the heated pool.

Excellent Location - Nice and Clean - BIG HOUSE!!!

Home was amazing, very clean and amazing location for us to 'search for the beautiful wild horses). Closest location without staying on the 4x4. Gorgeous quiet mostly private beach yet 2 minutes to the 4x4 area of the northern most point of OBX. The house was fabulous, amazing views of the ocean, complete with pool and hot tub. My family and I will be back!! I recommend this house, one note when you arrive, hot water works on kitchen Faucette, it is just reversed with the cold. The house was super clean also!

The only drawback was the amount of steep stairs and the hard to open sticking sliding door that faces the beach. Other than those two things everything else was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are regulars to the Outer Banks and the Corolla Area. We have stayed at Song of the Sea a number of times. The location is fantastic. Beachfront and close to corolla village and plenty of restaurants. Recommend Wild Horse Tours for a trip up to the 4X4 to see the wild horses. Our only issue was that the cable/internet had issues that couldn't be fixed immediately, and it was out from Friday night through Sunday when we left. The cable actually runs on the ground at the bottom of the driveways.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You cannot beat the location of this property. The beach access, the visibility from the decks and pool area are unmatched. The driveway is steep, but once you get the hang of it you are fine. There are some maintenance issues that need to be addressed: rotting board in outdoor shower, almost put a foot through, dishwasher is ineffective and needs maintenance or replacement. AC returns need a good cleaning. Overall the house is great. But at a premium I would expect some better upkeep with the exterior and cleanliness. The 3rd floor feature windows were covered in bugs and in need of serious cleaning. The bedspreads could all use a laundering as they had a musty smell. The kitchen utensils could use an upgrade from wear/tear of use and dishwasher. Location is the biggest draw for this property. You cannot beat it. With some upgrades/maintenance it is hands down the best.

Only suggestions would be for the bunk beds to be placed on the middle floor instead of the ground floor. The mattresses need updated but overall were comfortable. The location of this house is perfect and going the end of May was a perfect time. There was 2 windy chilly days but nothing that prevented going on the beach and swimming in the pool. I do recommend paying extra for having the pool heated. It was nice on those chilly days. A few deck boards need replaced on both levels. Other than those few things, the house, location, cleanliness and amenities were perfect. I highly recommend this house and we plan to rent this house again next year. It met all our needs - from the 2 year old to the 80 year old.

This was our first visit to the Outer Banks, but we loved the house and location so much, we mostly stayed at the house. We paid extra for the pool heat for our April visit and it worked out perfectly. We were in the pool everyday and the water temp was very warm. The location is excellent and we loved playing and walking on the beach. We even saw a pod of dolphins one evening while eating dinner. There are so many windows upstairs, you see the ocean everywhere you look. The only minor negative was that the dishwasher didn’t clean the dishes well. We ended up just handwashing everything since we were re-doing a bunch of the dishes every time. We didn’t call the management about it, as it wasn’t a huge deal to us, but it would be great if that is fixed or replaced for next time. We would love to return and highly recommend.
