nice hotel that's a bit away from the beach
I liked the hotel. It worked nicely for our group. Room was comfortable, staff was friendly. The location is good. Not on the beach, but not a terribly long walk to get to the beach. Breakfast is not really geared around Western tastes, but they don't seem to have so many international guests, at this point. I had some very tasty cheesy omelettes. The only thing that wasn't real good was the temperature of "hot" water in the shower. On our floor, it was barely warm.

The property was clean and most of the staff were friendly, but there were a few instances that made me question that this is actually a 5 star hotel. On the day we arrived the check-in was delayed for some reason even though we had arrived past the mentioned check-in time, so they asked us to wait for about an hour past the actual check-in time to be able to get our room. While waiting we decided to get some lunch in the hotel restaurant, the server firstly didn't speak English and added something to our order that we didn't even ask for and got charged for. They also haven't updated their price list on their menu, we asked for 2 drinks that was for 200taka on the menu but when we received the bill it turned out that the price had changed to 320taka which was almost the price of one of the dishes we ordered and they didn't inform us of the price change. The food was good but the experience left a bad taste. The remainder of our stay was okay until the moment we were about to check out. We were preparing and getting ready to leave when one of the housekeeping employees decided it was okay for them to just enter our room without knocking or asking permission to enter our room only for him to use the washroom(not for cleaning). Luckily we were dressed and not undecent. When we confronted them, all they could say is that it human error and that the person in question was fired. We were more concerned about how the management handled it as there was a clear lack of communication.

Dear Guest,First and foremost, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. We did meet you and explained, when the issues were raised. The errors were unintended and we did take it up with the team so that such situation can be avoided. The price of soft beverages, which are imported are changing very frequently and thus could not be changed in the printed Menu. However the price was updated in our software. The associate surely had missed to share the price with you. We did take the old price from you when you brought it to our notice. As far as the House-keeping Associate is concerned, the SOP was not followed of getting into the room, assuming you have already checked out. The issue was taken up seriously with the person concerned. The hotel expressed its apology as the service is human oriented and even after rigorous training, slightest deviation caused such errors. We did understand it and extended your check out time even by 3 hours. We expect your understanding on the subject above and hopefully would accept our apology.Thank you,

Great Hotel
This facility was very nice compared to other options I saw in the area. The Hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. They let me check in even though they had not yet received the notification from Hotels.com. Breakfasts offered a good variety of options and the staff were very helpful. My only complaint would be the mold that had built up on the ceiling and had just been painted over. I am quite sensitive to mold and after a couple of nights in the room my lungs were feeling the effects. If I were to stay here again I would definitely want to closely inspect the ceiling in the assigned before unpacking. Being in such a humid place, so close to the ocean, this may be unpreventable, but I would certainly try and find a room were the problem was not so pronounced!
