Sketchy Place
This place is so outdated. It was horrible. Towels and bedding were not clean or washed properly. Hair and make-up on pillow cases. Room smelled like smoke. Had to be moved to another room. Carpet was old and sticky. Only there for one night. Also people roaming around looked like drug addicts. Very sketchy. Would stay clear of this place.

The beds are very uncomfortable, they had 2 SMALL pillows on each bed, blankets looked dirty and had holes. There were no big towels or complimentary soap in the bathroom. Even for the price I paid it was a bad experience.

Not sure why the health department hasn't closed this place. Pool was black. Two beds in my room. One had a fitted aheet as the top sheet. Two of the three lamps had no shade. Towels looked tan when they were supposed to be white. Deadbolt had something in the frame to prevent it from working. Ice bucket looked like someone had used it to cook in with food remaining. 82.00???? If it had been refundable, I'd have slept in my truck.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. im a traveler for work, i’ve been all over country but this Carriage Inn in Cross City florida was the most disgusting place i’ve ever stepped foot into!!!! where to start.. firstly pulling up i was immediately uncomfortable with the types of people that were hanging around. shirtless men, groups of worker men. and just sketch looking people. but bc i hadn’t slept in 5 days because i have been traveling all over state i decided to give it a try and not judge book by cover. boy was i wrong i should’ve trusted my gut and drove right off but i already paid 104$ for room. old woman at the counter was nice but didn’t know how to check people in. after i got my room key i made my way up there excusing myself between all these men standing around the stair case. walked in and the first thing i noticed was a german roach on the wall above tv. decided to do some more looking around to see what other gross things were in here. 15 burn holes in the sheets between both beds. body fluid stains on bathroom mirror. mold and hair in shower. door hasn’t been been wiped down since the place opened a hundred years ago. microwave was caked with old food. room was hot and muggy. toilet seat had tape on it!!!! I wasn’t at this property for more than five minutes between check-in and going to the office to demand a refund which they told me they couldn’t give me and that I had to go through Expedia for it. the list goes on but don’t waste ur money!!! nasty service

Purtroppo il motel è rimasto fermo agli anni che furono, con tutta la buona volontà ci sarebbe da sistemare qualche bella cosa. C’è da dire che secondo la titolare l’albergo è in fase di rinnovo, però la nostra stanza era veramente ferma agli anni 70. Due letti, uno senza federe e con lenzuola mancanti, l’altro con le lenzuola sporche. In bagno il set di asciugamani non ce n’era uno non sporco e macchiato. Abbiamo chiesto e ci e stato fornito un nuovo kit, apparentemente profumato e pulito, ma pieno comunque di macchie. Tende bucherellate, doccia sporca con impronte di una stivale, forse l’idraulico che aveva sistemato la doccia?? Sta di fatto che ci abbiam passato una notte. Purtroppo non possiamo dare un voto positivo, ciò nonostante la famiglia che lo gestisce è squisita. Urgono lavori di ammodernamento.

Don't Ever Stay Here
My brief but memorable stay was originally booked for three nights. I lasted one. The door didn't lock, l had to prop a chair under the door knob. The toilet didn't flush, the room smelled of poop. The bed mattress had bed bugs, l got bitten to pieces. There were no staff to complain to in the morning. I posted key and sent an email to check out. I will be claiming my money back for the two nights l didn't stay. If you really hate yourself book a night at the Carriage Inn Motel.

Said that we did check your room with all the problems you listed and there was nothing wrong with the room. We did rent the room next night after you had left and there was no complain. Please in the future if you don't like to stay more than you want to, you don't half to make a complain we will charge you for the night you stay.Once again thank you for staying with us.

I had to put a blanket down over the bedspread and sleep on it because the linens were gross. Thankfully I had my own blanket and pillow. My tv did not work. There was a bug in the bathroom in the middle of the night. Towels were stained. I expected a lower class motel with the price but I will pay more for a different hotel next time.

First they are so difficult to get ahold of and when you do they act as if your bothering them. Then when we walked in there was a dirty bandaid on the floor. You can’t get any towels and they don’t clean the rooms when you stay multiple days. It’s a dump. Don’t stay here.

After the first night, they took the pillows from the room along with the washcloths and towels and did not replace them. We went to the front desk and were told the pillows belonged to the room next door. We had to repeatedly ask them for pillows. They refused to replace the washcloths so we finally went to a local Dollar General and purchased some. The staff was less than concerned. The only good thing about the room was the AC.

Fair Steinhatchee alternative-GOOD FOOD next door
Second stay here. Old "mom & pop" '50s motel. Close to Steinhatchee when scallop season fills up all places there. Room paint good, bedding adequate, good AC, good cable TV, inoperative light fixture that is REVERSE POLARITY (shocking), pool closed (green algae) with no plans to fix. A year ago, tried to make a reservation and they didn't answer the phone. Thought they had closed. Found out that they and one month full booking and instead of posting "no vacancy" they just didn't answer the phone. Not a way to run a business. Best part - the Taste of Dixie Diner next door (separate business) has a great homestyle buffet. Their Friday night seafood buffet is outstanding.

The wall AC sounded like a blender. The TV didn't work. There were only 3 electrical outlets, none in bath room. Mattresses should have been replaced years ago. Comforter had cigarette burns in it. Totally outdated.

Before we had arrived at the property we had called about 25 times to speak to someone and no one had answered the phone. When we arrived front desk was helpful, but then when we got to the room, we noticed the carpet was really disgusting when opening the door, the window seals had BLACK MOLD all over them and the bathroom roof, the room smelled like straight cigarette smoke, as we did ask for a non smoking room since my younger child is allergic to cigarette smoke and mold. When looking in the window seal we had also found a razor blade, mind you we are traveling with two young children. Thank goodness the room was ONLY to sleep in, and wake up and leave. VERY DISAPPOINTING AND DISGUSTED. We will never recommend this place to anyone or stay here again. Spending $250 we were expecting way more. When we have travelled a lot and never been in a room this nasty.

The entire facility is in terrible shape. The drapes in my room had come loose from the wall, there were no facial tissues, the wash cloths were gray, the hot water in the shower was difficult to turn on, and it's impossible for a short person to reach the cool / warm air regulator. I will not be returning to the Carriage Inn.

It was nice there was a diner within walking distance, food ok but place not real clean. As for the Carriage Inn there were alot of construction workers staying there and was very noisy. The comfortors had holes in them , the bedding and linnen had stains on them and the rooms smelled. It was OK for a place to get a hot shower and sleep for the night but would not stay there for a week.

We got in late went right to bed 4:30 am the smoke detector started beeping we got it to stop once but it started back up. That was when we realized we had no toilet paper. Took a quick shower as I was getting dressed. Had to kill bugs crawling up the wall the got shock from lamp

The room was fine. It was clean, needs new carpet but overall OK for an old property. The Restaurant at the location is excellent!!
