« We stayed in a business suite which was delightful, large, clean, beautifully appointed. There were two big problems: the heat didn't work, and the room was quite cold even in November. In addition, there was only a trickle of hot water! Taking showers was a challenge. For the money, this hotel was worth it, but the experience could have been much better. »

« When I booked the hotel, the description of the location was incorrect. This needs to be corrected as the on-line description stated that the hotel was near the airport and the Mogao Caves, about seven kilometers from the city center. However, the hotel is actually in the city center. The breakfasts were excellent. There was very little English spoken. The only reason we did well there was because we were traveling with a former Chinese student of ours from Xiangtan University, Xiangtan, Hunan,...

« The Ibis train station hotel is an easy walk from the train station, and there are plenty of local food options within a 20 minute walk. My only complaint is that the room was too hot (in January!) and we could not get the the room to cool down. Note that the hotel and city of Lanzhou have very little English, so a translator is needed. American credit cards are not accepted at the hotel, so pay online when booking the room, or pay in local currency. »
