Dosewallips State Park

Clean campground with room to play and explore. Hiking paths are easily found, quite a few hills make this a moderate hike (kids do fine, but be careful if you have knee issues). There is a chance you will see herds of elk near the Dosewallips River, and the river itself is great fun. Nearby there are more places to explore, including a walk right on the Puget Sound shore of Hood Canal.

This park is one of my favorite hiking destinations..visit in the fall for beautiful colors and a chance to see our resident Roosevelt Elk
