This is a perfect place away from town in country. You can hear rain on a tin roof and sleep like a baby! Plus you have 2 running waters on both sides of you which made our sleeping exceptional! You do have horses below you which is an awesome experience if you are not used to country living. The Animas River is very close. Durango is very close for family fun things and Silverton is about 45 minutes away too. I highly recommend this for anyone that loves the country ā¤ļø

We had a great time at this beautiful property! The owner was very helpful and prompt to respond to any questions we had and was kind enough to make an extra accommodation for us no problem. The views are amazing and location by the river makes it extra special!

This was our first VRBO booking. A+ From making the reservation to communicating with the owners, she was wonderful! My little family of 4 had the best time at this property. It was a cute and cozy loft that fit us well, it was well furnished and had everything we needed for a week away from home. The property was well maintained and within walking distance to the Animas River. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony every morning and a drink out back in the evenings. We also loved visiting with the horses on the property, it added to the mountain experience. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already talking about coming back.

Great location, stunning property! The Animas River runs right along the property, and the horses make you feel like youā€™ve stepped into a Hallmark movie. Crisp, sunny mornings and warm days were perfect for hiking. This was an ideal house for the two of us to retreat and relax. Enjoyed coffee by the river with the two Adirondack chairs placed there. Two more up by the house barn. Also a comfy patio with cushioned chairs. We enjoyed reading one of the books they had in stock and the kitchen had all the basics you need. Even a French press! Could have used a measuring cup. Itā€™s real close location to Hermosa Grill and James Ranch for great food. The Dalton Ranch Golf Club restaurant allows some walk-ins but takes reservations (fantastic view and the food was superb). Also, eat at Primi in Durangoā€”we went there twice! The horse owners came by to tend to the horses, adding to the experience. We even got to pet and feed the horses a couple of snacks. Stayed 4 nights. The queen bed was comfy, though the down pillows werenā€™t the most ideal for us personally, but we managed well enough. The nearby hot springs resort and spa is a must-visit. We enjoyed some great hikes just 30 minutes away, with others more close by. Hope to return again sooner than later.

The apartment is perfect for a family of 4, very clean and quiet. Really well placed between Durango and Purgatory, we came in for the Spring break and we went skiing every day. We loved the nature around and to say hallo every day to the horses .

Wonderful! Beautiful! The location is superb. The hosts, Carol & Dave are warm, welcoming, and shared so much about their home and the area. This spot is an oasis as well as being a great jumping off spot for Durango and the area. The views from the apartment are stunning. The kitchen is well stocked. I hope we can come back for a longer visit.

Perfect family vacation in this private location. The setting is beautiful with the river just a short walk away, very clean and spacious inside the apartment. Our kids had so much fun swimming in the river while my husband enjoyed fly fishing. Also loved that within ten minutes we could be in town and close by all the amenities. Couldnā€™t have have asked for a better weekend, only wish we could have stayed longer.

We left for CO the same day school let out here in Texas without any concrete plans other than this booking. It was exactly as described in the listing and was simply breathtaking. The location to the river and ease to get to town were both great. Living above the horses was magical - waking up and walking out on the deck to tell them good morning! The owners are so genuine and so kind- sharing some great tips for us while we were in town. We absolutely want to come back again! Such a dream property!

Fantastic stay for our fishing trip in Durango. It was an amazing setting. Fantastic river access, beautiful scenery, close to town, but far enough away to enjoy nature. Saw elk on property! Owners were fantastic, and an pleasure to talk with. Will certainly look to come back with my wife for a get away.

Everything was perfect with our stay. The quietness of this area was splendid. We seen lots of wildlife from the home and spent a lot of time on the Animas River which runs through the property. The host were more than accommodating and pleasant to chat with during our stay. We would definitely go back again.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at this property, and honestly if we would have known how much we were going to love it, we would have booked it for longer! The views were to die for. We walked each night down to the river and did some fishing. The property was very clean and probably the best stocked of any that we have stayed at. We really appreciated all the tiny personal touches- especially the coffee options after a long drive! We followed the instructions on keeping the space cool- and even though it got up over 85 degrees each day it stayed completely comfortable inside. We canā€™t wait to return :)

This property was amazing. Our kids (7,5) loved it. There were even some tears shed that we had to leave. We would highly recommend it to everyone but especially if you have young kids that love horses, running in open fields and swimming In the river.

Wonderful hosts! Close enough to town to bounce in and out for food/drinks, but far enough to be out of the rush. Peaceful, quiet, with direct access to the Animas to sit and relax with a cold drink after a day on the trails. Direct access to County Road 250 for the road bike activities, with MTB trails nearby as well. Highly recommend!
