The view is gorgeous.The layout of the home (bedrooms, bathrooms, privacy) was great. The kitchen is well appointed, great appliances and everything you would need to prepare meals.However, the ad should read “Large, rustic log home on 10 acres with dock.”You will pass several truly stunning log homes just before you arrive at this rental. Having passed these homes, everyone was disappointed when they saw the rental for the first time.The photo used in the ad is the rear view of the house and is the most flattering picture of the rental.When we arrived, we noticed that the dock was not in the water. However, the dock was placed in the water two days before our checkout date. The lower level of the home was noticeably cooler, the carpeting felt damp and some rooms had a musty odor.Watercraft were there as described, but the pedal boat did not seem to work very well.There were several electrical outlets that either did not work or worked sporadically. In addition, several toilet seats were very loose.Overall cleanliness was less than what was expected. It seemed there had only been a basic surface cleaning done prior to our arrival. Dishes had dried food on them and had to be washed prior to using.The ad mentions ironing facilities, which it had – but no iron was provided.There were conflicting instructions as to checkout time and where to place the towels that had been usedHaving said all this, would I rent it again for our group? Yes – but not at that price.
