The house was clean, beautiful, we couldn’t wait for a 5 star weekend! Quickly went downhill shortly after check in when we realized 7 out of 11 heating units were not powering on, leaving just 2 out of 6 bedrooms and a common area with a small heating unit. We contacted the host after check in about the issues getting the heaters to turn on. We realized night 1 it was a tripped breaker after troubleshooting and flipped the breaker before bed. By 5 am the house was still an icebox and we realized all units that were originally off- were off again. By 9 am I had attempted to reset breakers over 10 times and then contacted the host again. 3 more times over the next hour is when I began to document the heating issues through photo and video. In contact with host who offered to send an electrician. Rest of the house had power, just the heating units without power. Electrician came close to dinner time, spent some time there and we were anxiously holding out hope for good news for the second night of our trip. We were cooking dinner when electrician had bad news. He could not fix it at this time. Had we known a whole second day without heat we could have left earlier in the day. I was clear with the host about how cold it was. 3 kids, 2 babies and my elderly father without heat. Host offered us 200 for our troubles. We paid almost 2800 to a SUPER HOST for two nights in 20 weather only to be left without heat. Heating issue was beyond host control, 200 doesn’t make it right.
