In general our stay was quite enjoyable. The beach and area can't be beat! The house accommodated our family well. The house is a bit worn, and needs some updates, and it was a busy place with yard work and AC maintenance that we weren't expecting to deal with. I do recommend this home for families.

Perfect beach house

We loved our stay at Beach Bums! It is a beautiful home with plenty of room for my parents, my sister, my nephews, and their families. Great Thanksgiving Getaway

I have a tradition of booking a house at the beach the week of Thanksgiving to bring my family together. This house was perfect for us! It had plenty of room and all the necessities. The house is stocked with lots of cookware which was great for cooking our Thanksgiving meal. The host was very responsive and friendly to my questions. We loved the screened in porches since it rained a couple of days. I would definitely stay here again!

The property was only a block from the beach and comfortably acccomodated the six women who all stayed at the house. We were told to bring our own sheets and bath towels, which everyone did. Future tenants should also be told to bring hand towels for the bath rooms and bath mats. The location was very nice, although it was too cold for the beach.

Lovely house But be Prepared with Supplies

The house is even nicer than the photos, and it was a great fit for our family with four adults and three children. It's a relatively easy walk to the beach. The property owner was a pleasure to work with a suggestion a wonderful spot to visit. Just be aware that 1) dining and entertainment options are very limited in Edisto, and 2) you'll not only need to bring towels and linens and bath mats--for our six day stay, we wound up needing to buy our own toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and dish detergent. We've stayed in VRBOs all over the world, and we've never been expected to provide so many basics. Which is absolutely fine, as long as you understand the expectations ahead of time.

Edisto Fall get away

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We came down for a quick Fall getaway to go to the Edisto Book store for C. Hope Clark’s new book signing , Edisto Tidings. Also to see our newest grandson. This is first time we stayed on Jungle Road and Beach Bums was a great choice. It was clean and nicely decorated. Straight shot to the beach access and the weather was perfect for the beach stroll. We enjoyed great breakfast at the Seacow, and good seafood at Whaleys and delicious shrimp and grits at the Waterfront. As always Atwood was professional and very helpful. That’s why we come in May, Oct and Nov. We are never disappointed and if something at the rental needs attention Atwood has always taken care of the problem. Can’t wait to come again.

Nice house just sort of dirty

The house is beautiful and in a great area. Very quiet and a short walk to the beach. The owner, Heather was nice and was easy to talk to and work with. Check in was simple as well. My only complaint is that the property was dirty. We received a message at noon the day of arrival stating it was ready for check in. Upon arrival the kitchen was dirty, crumbs and stuck on residue on the stove and counters, onion skins on the pantry shelves, all baseboards and woodwork were caked in dust, the master bathtub had dead gnats in it, master shower had hair in it, the master toilet had a literal poop stain in the bowl, and the hardwood floors had all of our feet black within an hour. I contacted Heather within 20 mins of check in with our concerns and she offered to send a cleaner back out the following morning which was the earliest time available. I accepted. I ended up cleaning up the master bath so we could even unpack and use it, not what I wanted to do upon check in and driving seven hours with two kids under 4. So first impression was bad and I was very unhappy. Heather was very compassionate to the situation. The cleaners came on time and the master looked better but not still 100% and the floors still made our feet black. We ended up just wearing our shoes inside the whole week, and we don’t like to wear shoes in the house because it’s gross.

Great experience and affordable

This property was very clean and well stocked. It was excellent being right on the bike trail and the beach was not a far walk if you don't mind about a 1/4+ mile walk. We really did not find anything missing that we needed and had a pleasant stay. I would be aware that it is a duplex and that you could have loud neighbors as we did. Past guests obviously did not clean the grill as the property manager has clearly asked and a couple of our party almost got badly burned so definitely check the grill before using. Overall though this was a great property that I would return to.

Great location

This was our second vacation on Edisto Island. The first was March 2020 and we stayed at a wyndham property was nice. This house is at a halfway point of the Island which was great. The elevator was certainly a plus for our luggage and groceries. Loved the kitchen/livingroom. The home was clean and the owners quick to respond with answering questions and such. We rented the 6 seater golf cart and bikes. Love Edisto

Great vacay at Edisto

Beach Bums was exactly as advertised. There were a few blips along the way, that couldn’t be planned or helped, but the owner/prop manager was quick to address issues and made things right even though they really didn’t have to. You won’t be disappointed w this rental. The elevator to carry up your load is amazing!

Great Property

We had 4 couples and Beach Bums was a great place to stay. We literally used every part of the house while we were there and there was plenty of room for us to have our privacy and for us to call come together.
