« We enjoyed our stay at the log cabin. The accommodations were as advertised. The owners were very responsive to questions. The exterior of the property needed its spring cleanup and then it would have looked like the photos. The screen was torn out of the back entry to the porch. There was hair in the main floor sheets. We really liked sitting on the porch and even got a visit from a fox on our last morning! »

« We’ve been renting this cabin for years and have stayed more times than I can count. Every time I pull into the drive, it feels like coming home, and I’m sad whenever I have to leave. It is, quite simply, the perfect getaway. »

The property sits right on the Mississippi so one can enjoy the scenery, barges going up and down and all over river traffic. You wont be disappointed in choosing to stay here. « Leading up to our stay, the hosts went above and beyond to answer all of my questions promptly. We felt safe, welcomed, and comfortable in this home and the amenities it provided. I highly recommend this particular unit for its privacy as well, we felt totally alone despite being located alongside a small community of other residents. « It was a fun little cabin! It had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We were greeted by cows for coffee in the morning and enjoying fire at night. We enjoyed being off the beaten path and yet still close to Gelena. If you want privacy and a little adventure, this is the spot! »

« Ensure you have AWD or 4WD and good tires. It’s a 10 miles drive on a very muddy/gravel, low maintained road with lots of holes. There were several times my van almost got stuck and I was sliding all over the road. The tree and water fountain were very cute but there were 2 dead mice around the bottom of the tree, inside the cabin. The road/driveway outside of the cabin was pure mud deep mud. « Sandy's location is excellent. Out of the crowded Galena area, but close enough for an easy drive over for the day (about 20 - 25min traffic based). Breakfast was delicious and different every morning - Sandy will work with your dietary restrictions - talk with her about it.
