Stay in Grand Forks
If you’re looking for a place to stay to do your Global Entry interview, stay in Grand Forks. I’d say our review is based on what we’re used to. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice. The room upon first glance was okay, but we had our small dog with us who helped us discover the mess under the beds. Food, trash, socks, and even a shoe.

We were a little late arriving but we were met at the door and quickly and efficiently checked in. It was nice and quiet.

This is an older motel with owners that care. There is quirky things in the room for convenience like power bars and a usb charging station. The bathroom was cleaner then most four star hotels i have stayed in. Its dated but comfortable for a wiery traveler

We appreciate very much your taking the time to review our property. The electrical outlet for a hair dryer is located in the light fixture over the mirror. It is an unusual spot and certainly can be missed, our apologies.

Great stay
Wonderful little hotel located a stone's throw from the border. Staff were welcoming and constantly checked to make sure I was comfortable or needing things. They were knowledagble of the area and while my stay was short, a great stay was had

Older but very clean motel.
The motel is very clean, the people owning it are very nice and willing to help anyway they can. The town is very small with almost no food choices. The motel is an older and very small motel with tiny rooms but kept up very well. It does have a microwave and small refrigerator. Beds are comfortable and furnace keeps the room warm.

This is a very small, border town motel, which we expected. We expected it to be a very small mom and pop operation. When we got there, at about 10pm, our room was not ready for us. The woman who was working ran out and got the room ready. When it was time to charge my card, she said that the price from the 3rd party was incorrect and she insisted that she would charge me more for the room. When I showed her the entire process of how I got the rate that I got, she said that it was incorrect, even still. She ended up calling the owner of the hotel, who also said the rate was wrong and that they were not willing to take the reservation price. They wanted to charge an extra $25 or so. This continued long enough for me to just cancel my reservation and just continue on down the road to the next town, where I got a great hotel room for the price that this little motel was asking. I was disappointed.

We are very sorry to hear your experience with our Motel was not what you had expected it to be. I believe it all stemmed from a communication error. The rate you were referring to was the US Dollar rate and we charge in Canadian Dollars making up the amount difference although the values would have been the same. We did offer the room to you for the lesser amount (not converting up to Canadian value but paid in Canadian dollars and not US). Also you had booked the room for one person and you were a party of two which raised the rate as well. Again we are very sorry that you were disappointed. I am sure you were very tired from a long day of travelling and did not need to experience this conflict. Wishing you safe travels.

The owner put it best. It’s an old building, and they do what they can. Clean room, modern bathroom, comfortable beds and bedding, and well stocked kitchenette. Perfect for our one night’s stay. Many thanks!

Awesome motel
This is a great place to spend the night if you are passing through or have business in the area. The rooms are clean, spacious, and updated. The owners are a really nice couple that go above and beyond in accommodating anything you may need. You can't beat the value for the price and service received. I will definitely stay here again on the way to Winnipeg.

Convenient and clean
My experience in Maple Leaf Motel was restful and relaxing after a long trip from St Paul MN in blowing snow conditions. I was very happy with my stay there. The managers were very friendly. I enjoyed chatting with them both.

Stayed overnight on a quick trip to US Border Services. Was comfortable, accommodating, and the staff was great.

Cozy and decent- not fancy
It was roomy with a separate bedroom, a full kitchen and a living space. Not fancy but practical. Caretakers were very nice and accommodating and room was clean - only real negative is bed was very hard. Other than that if you are looking for a reasonably priced place or need to spend some time in Emerson it was a decent option.

Prepaid for the room. Was not able to check-in.
Good Day Jaemin, The information we received regarding your reservation was for check in March 31, 2016 and you were charged as a no show for that date as no cancellation was received within the required 24 hour period. We did not receive any reservation information for April 10th. We understand that you were given a room and charged for it on April 10th. As a good will gesture we will give you a credit for the March 31st charge. We thank you for your comments and we hope this clarify's the situation.

Quaint, quiet and clean.
The hosts are super nice, small town friendly. It's a quiet place to relax on cross border travelling. I was surprised how cosy and clean the room was. Its an older building with brick construction but the housekeeping is first class. I liked the room decor and color choice. An aqua blue that made me feel relaxed and at home.
