Visiting the Faroe Islands during the summer months? If you're coming in July, be sure to get yourself to SyĂ°rugĂžta (or, just GĂžta, as most locals call it) for the G! Festival. This intimate music festival draws both local and international acts each year and takes place on a beach! I'm not sure you can find a better festival location.
The village of Funningur (on the road to Gjogv) is not only in an epic location, but legend has it that it was where the very first Viking to come to the Faroes settled.
