« Nicely placed on a lake, you will enjoy the sunset from there! Clean, warm in winter, confortable bed, we enjoyed our stay. Owners only started a few months ago and were very nice! »

« The property was run down and in overall terrible shape. When we entered the room it had a moldy, damp smell. The furniture was old and in poor condition. There was stains on the couch, headboard was dirty, carpet was awful, and the bathroom had a strong urine smell. The desk staff was very friendly but this property was awful. We stayed for just a brief time and decided we were not comfortable staying there and found a different place to stay. »

« Hot tub could be hotter »

« Easy to drive to the lake, adequate breakfast to fuel the day. Our room said it would sleep 6 when I reserved. When we got there it was a king and foldout sofa. We were a party of 5. Requested a rollaway, but it never appeared. We put one of the kids on a pallet on the floor. »

« Nice inexpensive place to stay with an attached bar. In walking distance of a gas station, bakery and a restaurant. Beds are on the small side and rooms are a bit outdated. Overall we had a good experience and was pretty much what we expected for the price. »

« The value of the stay was excellent and worth the the nightly rate. However, the place was quite dirty, outlets coming out of the wall, no battery in the smoke detector. The A/C didn’t work when we got there but the manager/owner was very helpful and walked me through a solution. All in all, a good deal for the money. »

« We have stayed at Dunvilla every summer for the past 4-5 years when we visit family with a nearby lake house. The hotel is always clean, the staff incredibly friendly and the overall atmosphere is relaxing and refreshing. It is a rural setting, just a few miles from Pelican Rapids and I look forward to our stay every year. A hot breakfast is included as part of the stay and they have an impressive casual dinner menu as well. I truly look forward to our visit each year. I highly recommend...

« The ice machines were not working, they were froze up. Their was police or ice agents activity their. On line they said the breakfast was open at 6:00 am, but didn't open up until 7 am. Change it please. Take off the previous owners off the web, it was very confusing. Other wise the breakfast was good, the juice machine was not working and had trouble with the waffle machine. Get things fix please. Will not go their again because of all these problems, poor management. »

« It was the cutest modern motel. My husband and I last-minute planned a getaway to Detroit Lakes for our anniversary. I found Beachfront Haven on the “Visit Detroit Lakes” website in places to stay. It was clean, cute, cozy, affordable, and we felt safe in the area. It is across the street from the lake, surrounded by amazing restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again! »

« This place goes downhill every single year. We stay with a group for Christmas for the last 15 years. Wallpaper is peeling, you are charged for a “resort fee” but the pools aren’t even always working. Dining is subpar. Rooms are very dated and getting worse every year. I think it’s time for our family to move on from thumper pond. »
