A great value
A great escape in that county, the hotel is really well maintain, great staff, front desk and Breakfast. We really appreciate the cleanest and the quality of the amenities.

Cons: Rooms smelt of urine, stained floors and curtains, sketchy folks in the area. Saw smashed broken glass from car windows. Noisy if you room near freeway. Pro: Staff was nice, regular breakfast.

I have stayed at this hotel for work. It has been a great, clean, reasonable priced option as a place to return to each night. It is great to have the breakfasts included and available so early. Nice to have a bakery and grocery store across the street. I will continue to stay here when I am travelling for work in the area.

This is the hospitality industry. While the young man at the front desk was efficient, he seemed less than happy to see us checking in at 9:15pm. Once we found a parking a space (challenging), we found our room less then clean. The table between the beds had not been cleaned, guessing soda cans as when we cleaned it, it was sticky. The bathroom had hair, too personal to mention that required cleaning. Thankful for our sanitizing wipes. In the morning, discovered the shower had no curtain. Called the front desk to ask if it was a “fancy” shower that did not require a curtain. “No”. We were on a timeline to get to a memorial service. Called to follow up on our request, when maintenance came and installed the shower curtain. Upon our return that evening, again, finding parking was a challenge. In the morning, checking out, spoke with a clerk at the front desk and asked that a manager call us regarding our concerns. At $200.00/night, we at least expected a clean room and shower curtain. After a week without a return call, followed up again and still no call. Gold Country Inn, you are not a good representative of The Best Western brand, given our experience.

W hen I shopped for hotels and prices your site said the price was 84.00. when I reserved the room it turned out to be 142.00. I have always liked expedia, but I don't expect to use it again.

Pool area looked aged and hot tub was out of service…parking was limited from construction workers having a party/ happy hour… however it did settle down to a quiet evening on my end…the breakfast was very generous and nicely coordinated…

The room wasn’t ready until 420. Check in was 3:00. I had to go sit in my car for 1 hour and 20 minutes. It was horrible and I will NOT ! Go to another Best Western again. I will tell all my friends not to go to one either. Horrible place

We felt the complex was dated and our room had hair in bathroom and shower, glass rings on furniture so we chose not to eat their breakfast due to being worried about cleanliness. In addition, the clerk would not check us in 20 minutes before check in time without charging extra even though the room was ready so I sat in the lobby looking at her for 30 minutes. If this is BW policy I am not sure we will continue to book rooms there. We were totally disappointed.

Front desk was very responsive to requests for blankets, towels, taking trash away. I was here for 4 nights due to power outage in my area. It was quiet in my room, neighboring guests were quiet though this is a pet friendly motel. I was working all day online and had no issues or loud noises interrupting me. My room was clean, stocked with plenty of towels. The king bed was VERY comfortable!!! This is not a luxury hotel but basic amenities, cleanliness, staff responsiveness and friendliness were great. No complaints.

Did not stay here after I checked in
I never stayed here because it was extremely dirty . When I arrived they said i needed to wait 40 min , to get the room . i took pictures upon arrival and told them I didn’t want to stay there . The room looked like it had been living in and they just put new bedding sheets but there was hair in the drains , soap scum and the toilets and drawers were dirty . It was disgusting.

Very Happy with my stay
For the last few months I was staying at a local motel, and everything was just okay. But the housekeeping on my last 3 visits were lacking. This time I tried Best Western, and I will be staying here from now on. By the way, I have stayed at Best Western motels all over California, and I have never had a bad experience.

I see a lot of mixed online reviews for this hotel, and I can honestly say we had a comfortable 4-night stay with our small dog. The first night we were placed in a less optimal room (on the back of the property, near the highway) but when we requested a room change we were placed in a more updated space with a better heater and bathroom. It made a world of difference, and I think this is why some people have great things to say about this property and others are less enthused. The breakfast was great! The entire staff was very friendly! It was very convenient, with lots of grass, for our dog. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Worst hotel I've stayed in for a very long time. Room was small and so shabby. Unpleasant smell of very strong Clorox when we came in. Sink and tub were clogged. Very thin blanket so I was cold at night. Outside of Hotel looks nothing like the photo. Bottom of bed was plywood not even covered. What I've seen at Best Western is that if you book through Expedia they treat you badly and give you the worst room available. The hotel was empty and they were not willing to move us to a better room saying they can't since we booked through Expedia. I'm staying at a la Quinta tonight and they had no problem giving me a better room.

just what we needed
We stayed here while visiting Nevada City, and this Best Western was convenient for both towns. The free breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices of proteins. We also liked that there was a comfortable chair in the room with an ottoman!

Only rooms available upstairs. Keys didn’t work first time. Had to make several trips. Very noisy all night long. Even police presence. Beds very uncomfortable. Looked like they hadn’t dusted in days. For the price it was a horrible night.
