We had a great stay. The loons on the pond and bald eagles were a great site while out kayaking. The house had everything we needed. Short drives for necessities but still a quiet place to be. Owner was very responsive.
My husband and I really enjoyed this property. The house was small and cozy and had all the amenities we needed for our week in Maine. We really liked sitting out on the porch listening to all the birds in the pond. We hope to come back one day and would love to stay here again.
The property was exactly as shown in the pictures. The view of the lake was wonderful morning, noon and night. We appreciated the available kayaks. The host was very accommodating and easy to work with. The only negative comment we have is that the water pressure in the bathroom was very low, especially in the shower. We will stay here agaIn!
We had a great stay, house was as described. Enjoyed outside on the deck, and everything we needed was provided during our time there.
Being from Louisiana, August is HOT during the summer. We loved being on the lake!
The directions and entry process were easy to follow and the cute place was very clean for our weekend. We went to Bar Harbor tor the day and went to see James Taylor at the Maine Savings Amphitheater. We enjoyed the short commute home and the welcoming sound of the loons on the pond!
My husband and I loved the lake house. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We loved watching the chipmunks play, the loons and the Bald Eagle that landing on the tree in front of us. My husband took out the kayak to explore the pond. The place was clean and everything it described in the posting. When I did have a question Ben answered right away. I would definitely stay there again. Also, loved watching the sunrise over the water.
So, what can I say that hasnât already been highlighted. The property itself is your a typical Maine lake house. It is close to a few amenities like Hannifords and a few restaurants but not too far from Bangor. The interior is completely updated and is stocked as you would expect with top quality rentals. Views are top notch. And Ben our host is and was extremely responsive. This is definitely a place I would recommend If youâre on the hunt for something off the regular market. A+ listing as described.
We needed a place that would accommodate our dogs. This worked out great. Nice quiet area. Clean, a little off the beaten path, had everything we needed and perfect for our short stay for the UMaine graduation.
My only complaints: the water pressure, the sudden loss of electricity (something out of a horror movie) which was not the owners fault and the eyesore next door also not the owners fault.
Thank you!
This is not a small cabin in the woods by yourself. It has close neighbors and is not really far from everything nor close. It does not have a usable hot tub though when we booked it, it was part of the amenities. Also there is a dock and some very steep stairs that go to the water. Apparently if the area gets rain the dock goes under water and you have no access to the lake. We asked the host to consider giving us a discount of $50 per night for the stay due to the broken hot tub and the dock being underwater giving us no access to the lake. We got the run around for over a month and the host has refused to work with us on these issues with the house. I have never left a bad review but I would not recommend this property.
My husband and i had a nice little getaway. The place was clean, quiet with breathtaking views to calm any nerves. We enjoyed ourselves. We were close to anywhere we wanted to go while being off the beaten path. Living in the city this was a nice break from the hustle and bustle.
Great location for easy drives to all of the sights in Maine. Bangor, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Moosehead Lake and even a nice short drive to St Andrews New Brunswick. It is on a pond with great views but the steps to get to are steep and sloping. Can take a walk on the quiet dead end road. Cabin was very clean with everything you would need. Easy communication with the owners. Would definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful waterfront property that overlooks Hermon Pond, a fun fishing lake. The cottage sits up off the lake for good views. The deck of the cottage is wonderful for bbq and watching the loons and the resident eagle. The cottage interior is simple and complete with linens, gadgets, s&p and papergoods. Furniture it's comfy, bed is very cushy. The view was obstructed but the window is to be replaced soon. Parking is perfect, good airflow and HVAC. Obvious care has gone into this place. Ben and Autumn are wonderfully responsive, exchanging the washing machine and giving us help and instruction when we asked. There was a mouse issue, very temporary I'm sure, because the cottage is very clean. We hope to return next year. Thank you Ben and Autumn for your hospitality.
I loved the secluded feel of the cottage! Being able to sit on the deck and look out to the lake was my favorite part about the property. Our dog Stella really enjoyed jumping off the dock into the lake. This cottage was very comfortable and I will absolutely be back!
The cottage was very nice. The owner was very available for any needs. Great view of the Lake, we had use of the Kayaks. Good location with Brewer and Bangor only minutes away. The only down side was the Lake access was very weedy so swimming available but you had to make it thru the lily pads to clear water, and The stairway to the water was very steep. This fact was not mentioned in the add for the cottage....otherwise we had a very nice stay
I only gave it a 3 for the cleaniness of the property to to the outside maintenance. But overall it couldnt of been helped due to the amount of rain. The cottage itself was adorable and very clean. I coulsnt of asked for a better host.
Very Cute, nice location We would stay there again.
We Would stay there again. Just need to address a couple of issues. The coffee maker did not work and needed a box of tissue. Can't fly with things like that.
