The property is fantastic. Easy lake access. Nice beach area for children and adults. They have a large dock with canoes and paddle boards. A dive platform for swimming. A fire pit area and lounging area with umbrellas, all lakeside. The area around the cabins has several seating options with a nice lawn to the lake. The cabins are very clean and comfortable. The property is great for all age ranges. It’s in a quiet area, but convenient to town also. The hostess was great. Very accommodating and responsive. We would highly recommend this property to everyone.

This property is an amazing place to come and bring your family as well as extended family as we did. Having two separate sleeping areas provided the ability to have space and with the larger communal area in Fishcamp to cook and spend quality time together.The big grass area leading down to the dock area with plenty of shade trees, allowed a great separation from Lake activities, as well as a great viewing area for the fun wildlife (Deer family). We all loved watching the deer family come and have a snack on some grass or the apples that fell from the tree.They’re also plenty of lake activities from paddle boarding to kayaking to fishing off the dock that were very convenient to utilize during our visit. We even rented a boat for part of the day from the Hayden Lake Marina making it easy to pick up and drop off for a day at the lake. We had the most enjoyable and peaceful time at this historic beautiful property and can’t wait to come back someday.

MH family Vacation

From the moment we arrived I fell in love with the property. Both houses were wonderful with everything we needed to feel right at home. I sat outside early in the morning with my coffee and a company of deer, it was magical. Our group ranged from 70s to 1 and a half and all the amenities were there for everyone.I am recommending Red Barn to all my friends as a must for there families.

The Best Family Stay on Hayden Lake!

This is our third year returning to The Red Barn and we can't wait to come back next year! It's the perfect getaway spot for our annual summer family gathering. The barn itself is gorgeous and well-appointed with lots of sleeping space and full amenities in each of the rooms. With kids at the beach everyday, we especially appreciate the full washer/dryer in each house. Colleen and Jon are consummate hosts. Literally everything you can think of, imagine or need is provided — kayaks, lifejackets, lawn games, floaties, wood for the fire, the list goes on and on. We love being able to pack light for our trip, and still find everything we need! We never run out of things to do, and there's no way anyone gets bored! Our family goes back in the area four generations and we know the area — the location couldn't be better. You're right in the middle of the lake and we had the most perfect view of the 4th of July fireworks at night. In the daytime, enjoyed watching two nesting bald eagles in a nearby tree. Quiet mornings kayaking and paddleboarding are just stunning, and there's lots of action on the lake in the middle of the day. Colleen is a great communicator and not only are the rooms stocked with a really thoughtful guidebook, but her texts are clear, timely and helpful getting you in and out easily! If you're looking for an easy, beautiful lake stay in the middle of Hayden lake, we highly recommend The Red Barn and look forward to coming back next year!

Incredible property run by amazing hosts!

In a word incredible! The barn has everything from fully outfitted kitchens to everything one could want for lake adventures in the way of toys, games, fire pit. We enjoyed every minute of our week on the lake and wished it could have lasted longer. Colleen was amazing to work with and super helpful. We will definitely be back to enjoy this place again.

Amazing vacation!

I never considered location of the house when we were VRBO shopping, but having a house on the East side of the lake made for the most epic sunsets. Our favorite part of the trip was sitting on the dock and watching the sunsets. This house has more toys for the kiddos then you can imagine and we truly enjoyed every minute! If you stay in the Boathouse, bring ice and bottled/jugged water: the main house has the only fridge with ice/water dispenser. There are some trays for making ice in the boathouse if you aren’t ice hounds like us! A vacation for the books! Thank you Colleen!!

Summer Getaway Perfection

The Red Barn is the perfect location for a multi-family getaway! We had multiple family groups staying with us there over the course of a week. Having two residences, the Fish Camp and the Boat House, provided more flexibility and privacy for our visiting family. The property is absolutely gorgeous and both residences were so well equipped! The kids had a blast swimming and playing at the beach area, playing badminton and other lawn games, and eating s’mores at the lakeside firepit. The floating trampoline was a big hit! We rented a boat that we kept at the property, super convenient for a week of boating adventures. With two kitchens, each family unit was able to prepare meals, and we also enjoyed dining together al fresco in the patio area. Vacationing at Hayden Lake has become a family tradition. We will absolutely be back to the Red Barn to make more memories! Colleen is a wonderful host, thoughtful, responsive, and the property was exceptional!

One of kind rental

Red barn resort is an amazing property. We had such a fun week at the lake. Kids enjoyed the water trampoline, paddle boards and kayaks. The dock was spacious for our boat. Both properties were spacious and very clean. If we rent again red barn will be our go to property.

Perfect Lake Getaway

The Red Barn did not disappoint. It had everything and more. The kids enjoyed the lake, trampoline, fishing and pool table. It provided space for two families and enough area to get your personal time, if needed. Communication with the Braff family was exceptional! Everyone agreed, this was a place we would like to come back to. It is a stunning lake, with a direct view of sunsets every evening!

Most amazing lake house!

Our family had been going to Hayden Lake for our summer vacation for the past 8 years and this is by far the nicest and most amazing lake house we’ve stayed at! The owner, Colleen, was so accommodating and responded to me so quickly. She also knew we were getting in really late and had the all the outside string lights on for us, it was so beautifully lit up! Both apartments were perfect for our 2 families to stay for the week. Everything was super clean and could tell all the towels, sheets and blankets were just washed. Both places are well stocked with all the basic things you need in the kitchen and bathrooms. The outside was perfect for bbq’ing and enjoying the amazing grassy yard. Plenty of outside games for everyone too. Walking down to the lake is beautiful and the dock is perfect too. We loved doing s’mores down at the fire pit and hanging out at the lake during the day. The trampoline was such a bonus for our kids too, they loved it! The Red Barn Resort is beautiful inside and out. This was such an amazing vacation for us and can’t wait to stay here next summer.

Sparkling perfection: the perfect family lake vacation!

Our family has deep roots in Coeur d'Alene and on Hayden Lake and we were so happy to be able to make the Red Barn our temporary oasis for an extended family gathering. The property is perfection. Every detail you can think of has been beautifully appointed. The rooms are luxurious, the amenities kept everyone busy, and there were plenty of toys for fun at the lake, along with plenty of space to spread out, with lots of extra sleeping spaces for all the kids. We had an incredible stay and hope to come back again next year!

One word…HEAVEN!

Wow! The Red Barn Resort was a dream come true! We originally booked the other lake property owned by Colleen and Jon but due to low water levels eliminating boat access, they so generously accommodated a transfer and made sure we were taken care of. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Colleen was to work with! One of our kids caused a need for a visit from the maintenance man and he was wonderful, he even brought us watermelon and cookies! The property is beautiful and serene, we even received daily visits from deer. It was nice having the big yard for playing games or throwing a football, and the kids loved the bonus room over the garage where they could hang out without parents. The pool table is a nice touch, or provided many hours of entertainment. The dock and slip were perfect for our wake boat and we loved that there was plenty of room to park the boat trailer in the driveway. Both units were well stocked with cooking supplies, beach towels, and just about anything you could need. It was also great having laundry in both units. All of the beds were very comfortable as well. The Red Barn Resort is an outstanding home to rent for two families, we had ten people and had plenty of space to spread out and get away when some alone time was needed. Thank you so much Colleen for saving our 10 day family vacation, we are so grateful for you and can’t wait to come back and stay again! Now our only problem is figuring out which home we liked best, Life of Reily or The Barn, they are both amazing properties with the very best owners!

Great home to stay at while visiting Hayden Lake. The owners were fantastic to work with. The property was well maintained and the location was close to restaurants and shopping. I would recommend this property if you want to stay on Hayden lake! First class!

Wonderful vacation destination/launchpad for fun

Our family, parents (40s-50s), kiddos (11, 11, 13, and 14), Grandparents, (70s and 80s) had a great time here. Parents and kids alternated days playing. At home in the water, on the little private beach, on the water trampoline (thanks Colleen for that surprise addition!), from the dock, and on paddle boards. Everything (but swimsuits) we could want to play with was there for us to use. (Note: if you do bring any watercraft in from out of state don't forget to get your permit at an inspection station when you cross the boarder... to minimize the spread of invasive aquatic species, for example the quagga and zebra mussels.) And at Silverwood/Boulder Beach and some at Triple Play too, which is about 10 minutes away. Grandparents had fun enjoying the property and going for hikes at a park around the lake. Our week the weather was very hot. There are shaded places to relax outside that were comfortable regardless and the living spaces were cool and comfortable as well. Groceries, coffee, liquor are all within a 10 or so drive. If you like the water, and just hanging out, there is so much to do at The Red Barn and if there is anything else you want to do, most likely it's only a short drive away. Last. Colleen was very responsive to any questions and requests which made the logistical aspects of our stay effortless. :) Thanks Colleen I would definitely book again if I can. My guess is that this vacation rental will become booked early as word spreads. Cal
