Overall, the property was very nice and spotless upon arrival. The photos suggest a very well lit and elegant appearance. In reality, because Shipyard is heavily canopied with trees, not a lot of light gets in. It's not an issue because there is plenty of interior lighting, but the photos can be a bit deceptive.
The neighborhood and community are spectacular. If you enjoy evening bike rides, it's the perfect environment. Between the community roads and the golf course pathways (after 7:00pm), it was a great way to spend an evening. The beach club was easily accessible, with beach umbrellas and chairs available to rent (current price - $50 with tip).
The unit was comfortable. The air conditioning was sufficient downstairs, but uneven upstairs, with the master being warmer than the suite in the rear. If there are just two of you, I recommend sleeping in the rear suite for maximum coolness.
There was more than enough space for two couples and maybe two children. The outside seating was "okay", but not particularly picturesque. It feels more like an afterthought, frankly. We had rain on most days we were there, so the opportunity to sit outside was limited anyway. But there is so much else to do in the community that it is not much of a factor.
The golf course on site is spectacular.
I would highly recommend renting bikes for your stay and having them delivered to the bike rack just outside the unit.
We would likely stay there again.
