The cleaning staff was still in the unit at 4 PM when we were supposed to check in. They did not complete the cleaning until 4:45. They were going to leave mounds of garbage in the driveway, however we asked them to take the trash to the curb. They were very rude from the start, however we found the home clean when we went in. What we found lacking: No dining room table upstairs to eat together when it was raining or chilly to eat downstairs on the patio. We work remotely and there was no place for that to take place as the internet connection was not sufficient on the outside table. I do not understand why new guests should have to purchase new garbage bags, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, dishwashing liquid etc. To remove these items everytime someone stays and leaves them is ridiculous. As guests, we are spending enough money on the home. If there is an opportunity to leave non-food items for the next guest, I don't see why they cannot be left. This is the case in every other VRBO rental we have used. There is always the basic essentials, including salt & pepper and basic paper goods. To have to start over when I know there must have been some left from the previous guests is unfair.
