- Plan a break to this contemporary lodge just 500 metres from the centre of Holt, a Georgian market town in the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This dog-friendly lodge features an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, underfloor heating and an enclosed courtyard garden. It's the ideal base for a family holiday, with easy access to attractions in Holt, Holkham Beach and Wells-next-the-Sea.
The single-storey lodge stands in a quiet spot just off one of the popular routes into the centre of town. Cheerfully decorated, naturally lit and boasting high ceilings, the lodge has plenty of character and is draped in colourful soft furnishings spread across wooden flooring. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner bathes in sunlight, the perfect place to unwind throughout the day, whether enjoying brunch or gathering around the wood burner during film nights. A handy utility room stands off to the side, perfect for dealing with little ones on two legs and four paws who can’t help but make a mess of themselves. The lodge’s two bedrooms – an en-suite king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom – are only a few steps from the lounge, with the bonus of a lovely family bathroom nearby. The south/south-west-facing rear courtyard garden is a delight, a relaxing setting for al fresco meals or catching up over refreshments.
The centre of Holt (500 metres) is awash with Georgian buildings and home to art galleries, shops selling local produce and dog-friendly pubs. Holt Country Park (1 mile) offers 100 acres of woodland ideal for dog walks, while the North Norfolk Steam Railway (0.5 miles) offers day trips to Weybourne and Sheringham. The Norfolk Coast AONB offers miles of stunning beaches, with Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea (within 13 miles) amongst the most popular.
