Great Place for a Family Reunion

We rented several cabins as a family, and it was a great place for us to rest, play games, and swim in the pool. Hochatown wasn't too far but the cabins felt very secluded. Would recommend!

Wonderful relaxing getaway !

Amazing accommodations! We loved having five master suites with king beds. The sixth bedroom with two queen beds and single bunk beds on top was perfect. The spacious kitchen allowed us to cook all of our meals at the house. We will be staying here again.

Excellent facility for large family gathering. Deposit refund unclear policy and patio fireplace never worked. This is a lovely area but would be difficult to drive to in rainy/muddy weather without 4-wheel drive.

Together again ~ BIG FAMILY

Our last family vacation was April 2019 and it was incredibly nice to have our whole family in one place. We are a large family with 6 adult children (4 sons, 2 daughters, 1 son in law, 2 daughters in law, and one grandchild). We even shared this vacation with one set of our parents. This property was everything we could have wished for. It’s spacious enough for us to feel very comfortable and not cramped or crowded. The kitchen was graciously stocked to accommodate cooking for large groups. The back porch and outdoor space was very enjoyable. We also own a vacation rental property and feel this property was set up perfectly to accommodate all our needs. Well done!

Great Thanksgiving stay!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Cotton Creek lodge! The home had everything we needed and more. There were 11 of us and we had lots of room to spread out and then some. Great property & surrounding area/clubhouse. Management was very kind & responsive! Definitely stay here!!

Fantastic property but beware of the roads

The property is fantastic! Very comfortable. All furnishings and linens are high end! Makes for a very comfortable stay. The management is fantastic! They are very professional and made our stay a really great time. We lost power and water due to a storm with ETA to restoration so we had to cut our trip short. They accommodated us with a return to the property at a later date. Really fantastic to work with! One word of caution is the terrain to the resort/cabin is not ideal for standard car access. Roads are not paved, all gravel and the location has several large gravel hills to climb and tough terrain. Most roads only accommodate one car at a time to get in and out of the property and there is a large lake to scale a small bridge with no guard rails. We traveled during the night into town for dinner, there are no street lights and the property is not on google maps yet. It was very difficult to find our cabin at night. To add insult to injury it was storming and a few trees were down. Purely Mother Nature, nothing against the property or management. We will be returning soon!

Family Vacation

This vacation was one of the best so far! The house was perfect for 3 families.. the clubhouse was so beautiful and peaceful. The staff was mindful and helpful. They showed us different activities around the area. The lake was not too far from our stay which was great! We had an issue (so we thought) with the dish washer and when I let the property management know they sent someone within the hour! It was a simple fix of an extra button we had to press and he was so kind explaining things! Our family will be back to rent within the next year or so.

Weekend getaway with friends at Cotton Creek Lodge

The property was nice and private. The house was beautiful and large with lots of seating and space for a group of 12 adults. The full size fridge and full size freezer was a nice perk. The large covered back deck made for a nice place to hangout at all times of day and night even if it was raining. The "propane grill" that they have outside on the back deck is a bit of a liability...it's not a standard grill so there are instructions on how to use the grill written on a piece of laminated paper next to the grill which are not exactly clear. My fiancé went to start the grill the way the instructions stated. Then the instructions said to close the doors to the grill. So he did that and went inside to grab the food and came back to start grilling the meat and realized the flame was out when he lifted the lid. So he went to light it again and when he did that a VERY large flame blew up in his face and burned his hair and eyelashes and he was very lucky to not have been seriously injured.. We noticed after the incident and inspecting the grill, that there is a flue that must be opened to let air circulate when the grill is on. The instructions are not clear on this and this is the reason the flame was snuffed out originally and why when my fiancé went to relight it all the gas was building up inside the grill causing the big explosion of flame. The next night we decided to try to order from the Clubhouse Grille that is not far from the house. We received an email just before our stay that said we could order from there and they would deliver right to our cabin which we thought was great for a big group like ours....except they are not ready to be providing or advertising this service. You cannot call the Grille. They list a phone number but no one ever picks up. The Grille is manned by one person who apparently doesn't have access to the online ordering system because we went to pick up our order and he said he never received it. There is no way this one guy could cook the food and also deliver to the house and there was no option for delivery online even though they advertise that in their booking and email. Additionally when we went to pick it up he also informed us that he only had about 3 burgers left and that was it... The Club House/Grille was empty at the time we went to pick up the food so I'm not sure why their inventory is so low when their menu is so large. Anyways he refunded me in cash and we went to McDonald's to get food for everyone.

Great cabin with good location

Excellent living quarters with everything you need supplied. Also pleasantly surprised so much was near by (Wish I had known this well before our trip, it would have saved us packing unnecessary items). Biggest drawback was the difficulty of the rocky and hilly roads leading to the property. But bedrooms, pit, kitchen, washer/dryer, TV's, hot tub, etc. made the stay so much more enjoyable on top of the activities nearby in the state park.

Perfect Cabin for a large Weekend Getaway

I loved this property and so did all of my guests. Our guests travelled from New York, Oregon, Houston, Austin & San Antonio and we had a blast! The property is described accurately and the pictures of the property are exactly the way the property looks. The cabin was spacious and open allowing my group of 18 to all participate in activities together without making smaller groups.

Christmas 2021 !

Great property and as advertised ! Layout was great for our family and awesome to have 5 master suites with bathrooms! Outdoor space was awesome as we stayed most of our time outside with the weather as nice as it was. The only suggestion would have to have a better path to fire pit or possibly a bridge over the small creek that runs behind and looked like they were trying to dam it up. Parking on hills was fun and property is definitely secluded amd off the path. We will be back !

Perfect Friends Getaway Home

Cotton Creek Lodge is a wonderful home! Our group of 18 adult friends loved our two night stay, the only problem was having to leave and go home! The kitchen was perfect for prepping our big meals, the furnishings and linens were interesting and comfortable. We loved having plenty of bathrooms. The back porch and firepit were also very comfortable and fun!

The cabin was awesome. It had enough bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate our family. There was a great deal of construction going on, but it never was a problem. It was very quiet and so relaxing. Hope to come back soon.

Fantastic Weekend Getaway

Our small hours of friends had a great and relaxing weekend. The house was exactly what the pictures showed. The only added bonus would be if had been colder and we could have fully used the fireplaces. Look forward to staying there again.
