I stayed in Inishbofin House Hotel previously and was looking forward to return visit. However I was disappointed this time. They seemed to be understaffed when I visited. The receptionist had to collect and deliver luggage to ferry leaving no one at reception while the phone rang constantly. There were very obvious maintenance problems that needed to be fixed. Breakfast was fair only. Bar food was very nice. There seemed to be no one in charge. The hotel is in an absolutely beautiful location but could do better.

Lovely spot

The Inishboffin House hotel is very pretty--there are less fancy places to stay on the island, but this has a nice second floor reading room that I loved and a front lawn looking out over the bay. There was a slight mixup with our booking so I'd advise you to confirm with them directly. A bit pricier than other choices but lovely, clean, and with a good breakfast.A visit to this island is a must! It's special.

Great island off Ireland

Unfortunately InishBofin House Hotel messed up half our reservation which was inconvenient. When I showed them the confirmed Hotel.com reservation they scrambled and eventually accommodated us (although never apologized. The hotel is in an excellent location on an excellent island. We have been to several islands off the coast of Ireland and we think maybe this is the best. Great walks and history .. although why almost no prehistoric ring or coast forts was never properly explained. We were blessed with several days of great weather .. even went swimming (briefly!) with the grandchildren. The walk to the Cromwell Barracks/Fort was a highlight (make sure you get the tide right!). Also make sure you use the car-park for the ferry in town. The "public" car park is further out and seems less secure.

Staff exceptionally friendly. Food okay but vegetables with meal uninspiring not cooked well, disappointed unable to book spa treatment.

Brilliant location overlooking small inlet.

We loved our stay on Inisbofin - it is a magical island off the coast of Connemara - spectacular scenery in all directions and amazing walks around the cliffs and wild landscape.

Peace haven to relax in.

Absolutely fabulous hotel.Brilliant location to relax and get away from it all.A real peace haven.Hotel staff really helpful and friendly.Would go back again. Book a room with sea view .

Superb Views & Location

Stunning views... I'd sit in the restaurant or the bar all day and look out at the harbour and surrounding hills. Very good food, excellent staff. Would have loved a room with a sea view but we didn't stay in the room other than to sleep so not a major problem. It's on a beautiful island worth visiting especially if you like nice long walks and mountain bike rides.

Lovely hotel

Hotel stay was lovely, would have been alot nicer if room was to the front facing the water. We initially got a room over the extractor fan from the kitchen downstairs which was quite load at all times. Requested to be moved the following day and were duly moved to a quieter room.

Great craic

Staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Room was warm, quiet and clean with a great view of the water. Had to wait a bit when ordering our food but having said that it was very tasty when it arrived. I love Inisbofin!
