Nine of us stayed at this property for a family beach week and the overall experience was good. The house itself is old and there is evidence of that (very warped floors, crooked cabinets, etc.) but we did not have any issues with appliances or anything like that not working. If anything the age might have added to the quirkiness of the house.
The rooms themselves were comfortable for all of us and the AC worked great throughout the house. The porch and yard were a nice place to hang out and the garage was convenient for storing all of our beach gear.
The location is great, a bit of a walk to the beach but not bad at all and close to Sullivan's, Mt. Pleasant, and all the bar and restaurants on IOP.
If you are brining a boat, this house is absolutely perfect. The new dock is extremely well built and has a floating platform to account for the tides when docking. It also had a nice fish cleaning station and freshwater hose to make clean-up a breeze. Seriously the dock alone makes this property so so much better. Even if you don't have a boat it is a great place to swim and relax.
DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I wished we had been told specifically that we would receive parking citations for parking outside the house we had just spent a decent amount of money renting for the week. Apparently that parking is reserved for permanent residents only, but I wish that had been made more clear.
Skip the Boathouse for dinner. Staff was nice but the food was drastically overpriced for the quality received. For a nice dinner go to one of the great restaurants on the peninsula (Fig, Leon's, High Cotton, Husk, etc.)
