the bed. Live two hours away. Went to a concert at Ponte Vedra and wanted a place to crash after so I wouldn't have to drive home at night. My partner had to back out so it was just me.
VRBO said it was close to the location, but it was really 30 minutes away. But it was an easy drive, so that's okay. I wanted to check in before the concert but was running behind so I would just have to check in after.
So I show up at around 10:30 pm to check in. I was a little nervous going there for the first time at night and figured if I felt weird, I'd just eat the money and drive home. The neighborhood is an established one and was very nice and quiet. They had emailed me where to park. The room was to the right of the house. The path was well lit. A motion sensor light hit the gate latch. There was a semi private courtyard just for my little room, and it was nicely lit. The code worked fine. The room was super clean and cute.
As a female traveling alone, I felt very safe. I was impressed at how much was thought out.
For all that wonderful, I don't understand why the bed is so sub-par. The mattress is awful and the comforter is not great. My other problem was that the split AC unit was directed straight at my face, and I could not get the direction panel to adjust. So I didn't get much sleep and drove home much more exhausted than had I just gone after the show.
If they change that mattress, my score would be a 10.
It was clean and quiet. The bed leaves alot to be desired. It's a box spring with a 1 and1/2 inch foam. Very uncomfortable. Walkway is okay if you can carry your luggage from the driveway to the entrance. Very difficult to wheel luggage on gravel. Outside lighting is superb.
It was a tight squeeze to get in/out but the bathroom was big enough and the small kitchen was nice. The closet too was good. There was a stone path to the back and lots of outdoor lights. I liked the picnic table. The host has multiple private rooms they book out so you may run into other VRBO customers. The bathroom air freshener was a bit too strong I wish I could turn that off
