The neighborhood is peaceful, safe and friendly (the neighbors wave as you pass by). The hosts were excellent communicators. Thanks to their proactive approach (and the well-lit walkway), late check-in was a breeze. Clean Curated Coastal ComfortsInside, the home instantly felt welcoming. The fireplace, along with the open floor plan and the coastal/nautical decor, made the living room and kitchen feel spacious. On the counter was a nice welcome basket with water, wine, and snacks. Alongside that was a very helpful info binder full of local tips. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the complimentary K-Cups, creamers, and sugar were a NICE TOUCH! All the rooms were spotless and echoed the coastal theme. I enjoyed the large shower and water pressure, while my girlfriend was impressed by how the mermaid motif was used, keeping on theme but elevated. The Standout Feature THE BED!!! The bed was THE STANDOUT feature! I had the best sleep I’ve had in years. I ordered a new mattress topper for home before we even checked out.Multifunctional Finished BasementThe finished basement was impressive, offering another sitting area, an electric fireplace, a TV, and board games. The couch pulls out to a bed, so this area could easily accommodate another couple or children. There was a laundry room and another full bathroom on this level. Having a kitchen table and a second Keurig in the basement is a masterclass in guest hospitality—no need to juggle hot coffee on the stairs.Unbeatable LocationJust a short drive to downtown Jamestown, the relaxed little coastal village with locally owned shops, bakery/cafés, and restaurants. Close to Newport, Narragansett and Wickford Village- a favorite spot of ours. If you’re looking for a quiet reading spot, a yard for kids to play, a fire pit to roast marshmallows, or a home base to explore the multitude of local attractions, I highly recommend Capstan Cottage!Top-Tier ExperienceIt’s rare to find hosts who prioritize the guest’s experience and anticipate every logistical need this effectively.
