â›ȘTrinity Church in the City of Boston is recognised for its National Historic Landmark buildingđŸ›ïž, considered by members of the American Association of Architects📐 as one of this country’s 🔝 🔟 buildings.

🛐The famous Copley Square building is the third home to this parish. The first two were located in what is now the Downtown Crossing area of Boston. After the second churchâ›Ș was destroyed by the Great FiređŸ”„ of 1872, Brooks moved the parish to Boston’s new Back Bay neighbourhood, a recently land-filled marsh.

â›ȘThe church and parish house were designed by Henry Hobson Richardson 📐 and constructionđŸ—ïž took place from 1872 to 1877, when the complex was consecrated. Situated on Copley Square in Back Bay, Trinity Church is the building that established Richardson's reputation

🏱200 Clarendon Street, previously John Hancock Tower and colloquially known as The Hancock, is a 62-story, 790-foot (240 m) skyscraperđŸ™ïž in Boston. The tower was designed by Henry N. Cobb📐of the firm I. M. Pei & Partners and was completed in 1976. In 1977, the American Institute of Architects presented the firm with a National Honor Award đŸ”ïž for the building. It has been the tallest building in Boston and New England since 1976.

âžĄïžMinimalism was the design principle behind the tower. Cobb added a geometric modernistđŸ”· twist by using a parallelogram shape for the tower floor plan🏱. The highly reflective window glass is tinted slightly blueđŸ””, which results in the tower having only a slight contrast with the sky on a clear day.

đŸ€”A major concern of the architects📐 while designing the tower🏱was its proximity to Boston's Trinity Churchâ›Ș, a prominent National Historic Landmark. Their concern led them to redesign the tower's plans, as there was a public outcry when it was revealed that the Hancock Tower would cast its shadow on the church.

❓Did you know that the first thanksgiving🩃 in the countryđŸ‡ș🇾 was celebrated in Boston? Celebrated by the Pilgrims🙏 after their first harvest in the New World in 1621, the feast lasted three days.
