The Space:

Set on the first floor in the centre of Agia Efimia village, this apartment opens with a bright living area where original paintings and mosaic details give the space its character. The vibrant fuchsia tones lift the room, and the modern loft design pairs artistic depth with the comfort of a place you can settle into. A sofa bed welcomes a third guest, and the private balcony, with the village and the sea beyond, is where slow mornings unfold.

The kitchenette is fully equipped, with an espresso machine, a filter coffee maker, and everything else you might need during your stay.

The romantic bedroom sits in the wooden loft above, reached by an internal staircase, with a queen bed and the warmth of timber lining the room.

The private bathroom features a walk in shower with toiletries provided.

The Neighborhood:

Agia Efimia sits on the east coast of Kefalonia, a harbour village set against the slopes of Mount Agia Dynati and the Pylaros valley. The Ionian Sea opens toward Ithaca on the horizon, and yachts and flotillas drift through the port in summer. The village suits travellers who want quiet evenings, tavernas at the water's edge, and a central base for exploring. A well-stocked supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, and cafes are a short walk away, with laundry two minutes from the door.

The closest swim is the village beach, a pebble shore at the edge of the harbour. South toward Sami, the road skirts pebble coves with crystal water for snorkelling. Agia Paraskevi, a pebble beach with island views, lies about 4 km away. Antisamos, the bay made famous by Captain Corelli's Mandolin, sits around 11 km south with emerald hills above the water. Myrtos, often called one of Greece's finest, lies 8 km west, its white pebble arc reached by a winding road from Divarata.

Inland, the Pylaros valley offers forested walking trails, and Mount Agia Dynati rises over 1,100 metres for keen hikers. Mount Ainos National Park, home to the rare Kefalonian fir and wild horses, lies further south.

Melissani Lake, an underground cave with turquoise water and an open roof, is about 5 km away, reached by rowing boat. Drogarati Cave, with its chamber of stalactites and natural acoustics, lies around 9 km south. The 11th century Monastery of Panagia Thematon stands about 5 km away on Mount Agia Dynati. Fiskardo lies around 28 km north, and Assos with its Venetian castle about 22 km away.

Days here are spent on the water as much as on land. Cruises leave the harbour for Ithaca and Lefkada, motorboats can be hired for hidden coves, and the village hosts summer festivals and live Greek music nights. Local feta, fresh fish, and Robola wine from Mount Ainos vineyards find their way to village tables.
