Directly opposite is Keswick Golf Club, so bring your clubs along if you fancy a round. Just 5 miles away is the vibrant and popular market town of Keswick which is bustling with bars, restaurants, shops, nightlife and great shopping. Keswick also has lots of great tourist attractions including The Theatre By The Lake, which offers award-winning arts and drama in an enviable position on the shores of Derwentwater. Visit The Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the world’s largest pencil, and if you fancy something slightly different, check out Puzzling Place, a museum full of mind bending optical illusions and great for all ages.
Cyclists, walkers and climbers will love the freedom of the iconic Lakeland Fells in the vicinity. The area has any number of easy-going walking routes taking in much of the picturesque scenery, however if you are looking for a bigger challenge, Keswick and Derwentwater is a great starting point for many of Wainwright’s 214 Lakeland Fells including Latrigg and Catbells. If you want even more of a challenge, try Skiddaw or Helvellyn, 3rd and 4th highest mountains in England, both within 8 miles. Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was very good, the only issue i had was the staircase and low ceiling in the bedroom but this does not detract from the overall view of the lodge and i would have no quarms abour booking there again.

Recent stay
The accommodation offered value for money in a great location within easy driving distance of Keswick.
If we were to be critical we would say that the stairs are tricky if even for the most able bodied particularly at night time.
The bed is a small double and extremely soft therefore if sharing with another person you both end up in the middle.
The low ceiling is once again tricky particularly if you are tall and despite many customer comments about the shower it does not stay in place and needs to be remedied.
