Super. Obwohl viel zu spät angekommen herzlicher Empfang und sogar noch extra was zu essen gemacht.

Wir waren im Haupthaus untergebracht und können nur für diese Räume sprechen. Es ist nichts wie in der Beschreibung....Restaurant fehlt, Fernseher war so gross wie ein Tablet und im Zimmer konnte man nur seitlich durchgehen und WLAN funktionierte auch nicht. Man fühlt sich wie in einem umgebauten Pflegeheim. Ringhörig, wir konnten alles vom Nebenzimmer hören, obwohl fast geflüstert wurde. Hätten wir nicht noch so spät und weit fahren müssen hätten wir uns etwas anderes gesucht, eine wirkliche Zumutung! Alles sehr schmutzig und ungepflegt, nachdem wir dann auch noch die Küche etc. sahen, zogen wir es vor ohne Frühstück abzureisen. Etwas vom schlimmsten was wir je erlebt haben, der Preis eine absolute Frechheit!

I booked this accommodation as it is advertised as having a restaurant and a bar so we could have an evening meal for my birthday, only to be told that they do not do meals and haven’t done for 7 years. This therefore is false advertising and I have made a complaint to Expedia as I paid for 2 nights @£95 per night. I will be seeking compensation for your misleading advertisement

On the hotels.com website it is advertised as a b&b so were extremely surprised it was bed only. As it was room only this should have been made clear at the time of the booking.They did not appear to realise we were arriving so no key was left,had to find someone. We were shown to our room upstairs down a badly lit corridor. We seemed a bit of an inconvenience . If they were expecting us they should have turned on the fridge. There was a carton of milk still in the fridge that had gone off . We were told where we could get breakfast in the morning and no mention where the restaurant/bar was though I expect it was shut.We left the next morning as it was such a disappointment . We would not recommend this as a place to stay. Instead of staying 3 nights we left the next day. They probably did not know we had left.

Not recommended
Did not see any staff all weekend, key left in front porch with a note on arrival. Place felt ambandoned and un safe, had it not been height of summer season would have looked for alternative on night of arrival. Advertised details incorrect no restaurant or food available after 5 hour drive had to go out to find food. Plates and cultery left in room with very noisy fridge next to bed, expected to wash up in basin in bathroom. Farm in the middle of nowhere so no where to get food. Down stairs cluttered with parcels at door all weekend. Lounge area dark un welcoming and full of clutter and smelt of damp. Dreadful, will think twice about booking private b&b again. One room 2 nights £260 feel totally ripped off.

We can say that the bathroom was really clean, other than that we cannot be positive about anything else. The whole feeling of the property left a lot to be desired e.g.light bulbs not working, bathroom door handle loose, communal areas were uncared for and shambolic. Not a happy experience.

Burton Farmhouse provides very reasonably priced, comfortable accommodation a 10 minute drive from Salcombe. It's bed only not breakfast but there is a kettle, fridge, crockery, etc. in the room. Checking in and out was easy.

An unusual level of independence given to the traveller - very limited contact with hosts but you knew they were there if needed and they certainly responded to our needs promptly ! This arrangement suited our needs , but might not suit those that enjoy more contact with the hosts .

We didn’t find where our room was easily and I know it said no front of house but when I tried to ring none answered and the message box was full. I feel also that there is no reason not to include breakfast as everywhere is open now and this is not reflected clearly in the booking. The pot of porridge and biscuits being a poor substitute and you had to help yourself in a laundry cupboard for the second night! Not good service Nice location but really need to make themselves available to guests if repeat business is wanted and to provide breakfast

We had a wonderful weekend at Burton Farmhouse. Our room was clean and cozy, Ann was so friendly and helpful. The whole weekend was just perfect.

The property was well located with ample parking. There was no front of house service, bar or restaurant and because of Covid no breakfast ( other than teas and coffees and biscuits in the room) . The bathroom needed upgrading and there were clothes moths in the room.

WiFi / phone signal was an issue for us.
It would help if the Wi-fi was improved as we had absolutely no phone signal and none of us were able to connect to the free Wi-Fi. The owners were very kind in allowing us to use their landline to book a taxi. Aside from the Wi-Fi issue, we enjoyed our stay and the room was comfortable.

Charming Farmhouse
This is a charming farmhouse building in a delightful country village nestled down a very narrow one-lane road. There is no reception but a welcome note was left and there are ample facilities to be able to choose a comfortable seat and enjoy the surroundings both inside and out. Surprising in todays world, there is a bar and an honesty box, and a supply of board games. The single room was quite a squeeze for my suitcase but there was everything else i needed including tea and coffee. Breakfast was delicious and generous. I would certainly recommend this place as ideal for xp.oring the surrounding countryside, Kingsbridge and, of course, Hope Cove which is a short drive away and quite a delight.

The farmhouse is situated about 20 minute walk from the coast at Hope Cove from which you can walk in either direction along the coast path. The room was clean an large enough, the breakfast was good and the grounds were spacious to sit and relax in

The owner wasnt expecting us even though we had booked. She showed us our room and then said See you in the morning although when asked she did give us information about the nearest restaurants. My wife's breakfast was served on a cracked plate.

Nice B and B on a working farm.
We were staying near our two families as they camped. The farmhouse is within walking distance down narrow country lanes or paths to the sea. The nearest spot is Hope Cove, which is a quaint village and harbour with a small beach.

We stayed at Burton Farmhouse whilst attending a local wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff could not have been more welcoming and the location was perfect for access to Hope Cove and Salcombe. We would certainly stay again and recommend Burton Farmhouse to anyone looking for genuinely great value accommodation in South Devon!

Lovely spacious farmhouse b&b.
Fantastic couple of nights at this b&b, which is a gem of a find in one of our favourite places. The family room was very spacious, with seating as well as very comfortable beds. The TV/DVD was a bonus. We crashed early one night to watch a movie. The hostess tray was generously laid with plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits. The bathroom was clean and spacious and endless hot water. The breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of cereal to choose from, toast (you make your own in a toaster so it is the right colour!), and freshly cooked English breakfast, which was delicious. Set in its own grounds with a large lawned area with play equipment outside for the kids. The people working there were all so friendly and helpful. We can't wait to stay here again.

Excellent value for money!
The Burton Farmhouse is in a lovely part of the world and although a little old fashioned offers excellent value for money. The room was clean and the staff really friendly and the Breakfast was incredible. Its not fancy or stylish by any means but offers alot for not much money. I would stay again without a doubt!

Lovely farm house setting, even has sheep dogs running around! Very comfortable room and great breakfast. Little things niggle like toilet seat loose and should be repaired. The website & internal fliers state that the Garden Room Restaurant is open all year round but it was in fact closed which means that you have to drive to Hope Cove or others for evening meal which you may not want to do after a 6 hour drive.

Lovely farmhouse: friendly, cosy and good location
The farmhouse is lovely: very homely, cosy and the staff were friendly and left us to come and go as we pleased. The breakfast was generous and very tasty. The location is great, close to Salcombe and Hope Cove but out of the way enough to let you explore areas you wouldn't otherwise have seen. Our room (basic double) was small but cosy and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.
