he hotel is located in Salmiya, which is at least 20 minutes drive from Kuwait City downtown. However there is a complex with restaurants only 5 minutes walk away that we found very handy. The Hotel was great from every aspect. The lounge and the terrace were fantastic. The breakfast was amazing, maybe the best I had in any place I have visited so far. Choice was incredible and there was also the option to have some local specialties cooked fresh for you. Food at the restaurant was also good and mocktails were great. Room was also clean and comfortable, although standard room was a bit on the small side with no view. All staff was extremely helpful and very professional. Special thanks to Kamel for the Arabic coffee at the dates station. If you are a married couple, be prepared to have your wedding certificate with you (!) but this is the country law. The ladies pool was not in use which was disappointing. My only SERIOUS criticism for the hotel is that hotel security were a bit over the top asking us our room number all the time. We were among the very few "Westerner" guests, although I do not know if this is relevant. That also happened 3 times within 2 hours on the last day of our stay at the hotel's private beach. My wife was also questioned by security why she was taking pictures of the sea (?), although he said it was allowed. Half an hour later the security returned with the German hotel manager(?) and asked her the same thing, which totally ruined her mood.
