« We loved this little gem hidden away in the trees. The river gurgling outside our window at night was heaven. There was places to sit and ponder all over the property but the fire pit by the river was our favorite. Also don’t forget to check the man cave, the bikes are a nice surprise. »

« I come to fort Garland a few times a year. Im so glad I found this gem! The location is great a it is so clean and meticulous I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Also the owners are a pleasure to work with. Can’t wait to go back. »

« There are lots of places to stay in the San Luis Valley but probably not many with this view! The view was amazing, the cabin was so cozy and quiet. Definitely recommend Dunes Rest! My husband and I were completely comfortable for our six-night stay. »

« It was an overall outstanding stay in the Cabin. Judy and Craig, the Hosts, were super friendly, extremely helpfully, and we learned a lot about the area. The View from the Cabin is extraordinary. Nobody is around, the Cabin very secluded. Recommendation to everybody, don’t think twice - it’s absolutely worth it. »

« we stayed on this property in July 2023. We had two couples and one individual. This property was cramped and not clean, and also very dark downstairs. The beds t downstairs were very uncomfortable. Bathroom downstairs very small. The cook wear was very old. I actually found mouse droppings in the crockpot that I was hoping to use. Mouse traps several places. Towels very old and raggedy. The upstairs was roomy, comfy bed, but had issues with the toilet flushing and no towels supplied up there....

« Cabin was as described. The owner was very helpful and gave advice for fishing and activities in the area. The land where the cabin is located is fairly remote and has beautiful views of the Spanish Peaks. Enjoyed being away from the city and would love to visit again. »

« What a lovely little cabin. This was exactly as presented online and had extra amenities that weren’t listed. The view out the windows of the cabin was across a meadow with a creek running through it and green tree covered mountains in the background. In three days we saw elk in the meadow 5 times. Excellent common areas and air hockey was a fan favorite too. Highly recommended! »

« The cabin provided my 2 nieces, my granddaughter and myself with a comfy spot to relax and be together during down time while close enough to Trinidad to visit the town and to take my husband's ashes to inter in a family plot in the Masonic Cemetery.... my father was born in Trinidad and I have had a number of opportunities to visit there and always enjoy it. »
