We'll Be Back

We had a wonderful time at Kahana Sunset. When we did venture out, we realized how crowded other accommodations and beaches were. Everyone there seem to be annual visitors, all appreciative of the quiet beach, cleanliness and peacefulness of the resort.

Thank you guys for such an amazing week. We stayed in these villas 23 years ago for my Nan’s 60th and we just stayed a week in them for our Mum’s 60th. Such a beautiful place that is very special to us all and we will hopefully be back some day in the future!

Location, location, location

Right from our VRBO we could see the beach, turtles, sunsets.... beautiful. The only negative is some weathering in areas of the condo and the downstairs toilet continually runs.

Wonderful location- great place to stay

These condos are great for families! The kids (or guests) have a separate full bath! There is also a half bath downstairs in the living room/dining room area. Two lanais are great- but the one on top gets some heat from the AC units. Turning them off and opening the windows and doors for a great breeze allows for full use of the place. Views are great and we had turtles in the bay! Plenty of grilling options. Lastly, the beach is very secluded and easy to get into and out of.

WOW!

Amazing location--best on the island! Furnishings were in great shape and kitchen was supplied with all items we needed. The 4 & 6 year old children loved the pool & the waves at the Kahana Sunset beach. And, it was such fun to look right out our slider door, walk a few feet, & peer over the wall to watch the turtles! Leaving the master bedroom slider open each night to enjoy the sea breeze...we also enjoyed hearing the ocean waves nightly. Of course we enjoyed incredible sunsets. The day after returning home, the four year old wanted to know when we were going back. Soon! This is the best place ever!

Perfect Maui Vacation

This unit was absolutely wonderful! Spacious and comfortable. Looking down to the water just steps from the patio you could see dozens of turtles! The overall property was well-groomed, immaculate and set up well for small group entertaining. Location was perfect… just out of the hustle and bustle of the tourist zones but close enough you could easily partake if desired. Lots of great snorkeling at your doorstep or nearby. The property management company was extremely responsive - we had a breaker flip, left a voicemail and someone was at our door to fix it in 15min. Really wonderful stay! We highly recommend this unit and hope to return :)

A Perfect Birthday Celebration

We have been enjoying vacations at Kahana Sunset for over 30 years. It is a place with many happy memories. We came together this time trip to celebrate 2 milestone birthdays and the impending birth of a first grandchild/nephew. The 5 of us enjoy snorkeling and the condo is very convenient to the best snorkeling beaches on the island as well as many excellent restaurants. Our room was spacious enough to accommodate all of us comfortably, parking was convenient and we felt we were in the center of the best of Maui without being surrounded by hordes of other tourists. Turtle watching from our lanai was a highlight! We had a minor issue with one of the faucets in the guest bathroom but it was resolved immediately. We all agreed it was a perfect week and we will definitely be returning!

A 51- YEAR DREAM COME TRUE

I have been dreaming about this trip since my engagement in 1971 My husband Jack and I celebrated our 50th anniversary at Kahana Sunset with our 4 children, our daughter-in-law, and 6 grandchildren; the reality far surpassed my dreams Kahana Sunset accommodations were clean, comfortable, spacious, and exactly as described. The private beach allowed for ocean and beachside play as well as cozy evening visits. The pool and grounds provided hours of entertainment for our grandchildren, ages 6-16, as some were reunited and others met for the very first time. Overlooking the ocean, A-8 ‘s unforgettable view invites onlookers to bask in its beauty .. The accompanying sea wall became a favorite and picturesque meeting place for the cousins.and adult siblings. We often gathered for dinners prepared in the well-equipped kitchen or shared outdoor grills Family members stayed in 3 units In Kahana Sunset. The buildings are distanced to allow ample space yet close enough that even the youngest could visit Nonna with ease and safety Nothing was amiss in our Piece of Paradise!

Underwhelmed

While I am grateful for the one night accommodation so I could enjoy the last day of my sibling reunion, things did not go well. The email entry code did not work. Myra cheerfully gave another that worked. Upon entry, the unit had a musty odor and no coffee, cookies or fruit that welcomed us at E-10 the week before. The sofa had a missing seat cushion. The TV was not programmed to the right HDMI. The downstairs toilet did not flush properly on the following morning and left quite an embarrassing mess. The cleaning service arrived at 10:00 am and I thought we had until 11:00 am to depart. We planned to be gone by 10:30 am and actually did, but the cleaner’s surprise to find us still there only added unnecessary stress. Finally, as senior citizens, we found it difficult to carry the luggage from the parking lot down those narrow, uneven stairs. That is not your responsibility, but just added to our woes. I guess the moral of the stay is that we are wedded to E-10.

Maui Heaven at Kahana Sunset

Our families had a FABULOUS time in the A Buildings at Kahana Sunset. The units were beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and everything we could want in a Maui vacation. Having a beach on the property - along with opportunities to snorkel - provided chances for lots of adventures. Mahalo to your gracious and competent staff for arranging our places and in being flexible in re-booking (3 times!) because of the pandemic. We have been coming to Kahana Sunset for 35 years and will continue to make it a family destination.

A fun week in the sun!

This property was perfect for our family of four! The condo was clean, spacious and had views to die for. The complex was great for our smaller kids (walkable beach, pool, grassy areas to run around in), location was ideal for food pickups and eating out and honestly, it has taken us a few weeks to get over our sadness having to leave!

Condo was amazing! The views were specials the turtles on the beach at night were incredible. I am giving three stars only because we were locked out three times. The first night we couldn’t get it for awhile but the door eventually worked. I called itrips and the woman said she would call the association to have someone take care of it. After the second time we were locked out, I went to the association office and she said she never got a call about the problem. Sent someone to fix it and he replaced the mother board because the whole thing was dead. That night we could get in again. I happened to have the owners number because she had previously sent me a new code for the door. She found a maintenance worker at 9:00 pm to come with a master key. Well, his key didn’t work so he called another gentleman to come help him. They had to take the screen off to get us in. They left the door unfixed overnight which is a huge liability if something were to happen because it wouldn’t open from the outside. The next day they were going to send someone right away at 7am to fix it. No one came so I had to call again to get someone. It eventually got fixed but it was extremely frustrating and inconvenient.

Relaxing vacation
