My wife and I came here for our first anniversary and it was wonderful. We arrived on a friday afternoon to see a complementary "smores bucket" with all the fixings to make smores in the fire pit (which we did on saturday night). We enjoyed dinner and the sunset on the water at a nearby restaurant that evening. Then the best part of the trip happened, I was texting with the owners Angie and Eric asking them about the best hiking nearby as we were planning that for our day Saturday. Unfortunately we had forgotten to bring a backpack to take for our hiking, so Angie asked if we would like her to bring a backpack in the morning... we happily accepted. The next morning they showed up not only with the backpack, but it was fully stocked with waters and energy bars as well!! They even brought us a bottle of wine to enjoy afterwards. We hiked Saturday in Chimney Rock State Park (Less than a mile away. Did all trails and gift shop in about 5 hrs) and had dinner at a nearby place they had suggested which was delicious! That night we built a fire by just picking up nearby wood which was plentify as the entire house is surrounded by wooded areas. We made smores and sat around the fire just enjoying each others company before finishing the night relaxed in the hot tub. We sipped coffee on Sunday morning to the sounds of birds chirping and church bells ringing in the distance (extremely peaceful) before checking out and still spending the day walking the flower bridge, lunch in Morse park, and a boat tour of the lake. All of which is only about 3 minutes from the cottage. We will absolutely be back to stay here again.. This cottage was perfect and the owners were just as perfect. It felt like we were just staying at a friends home while on vacation. Thank you Angie and Eric for making our first anniversary better than we imagined it could be!! - The Jordans
