While I cannot leave a review about my stay, I can talk about my short visit to The Banana Hammock which ended abruptly on my own behalf due to the state of the property. Starting off with the positives, the check in process was easy and very clear instructions were given, and the hammock, though covered in hair, was comfortable. That’s where the positives end. The bed area alone was enough to make anyone start questioning things. The blanket covering the bed was adorned with mysterious stains and crust, pulling it back revealed multiple hairs surrounding a central hairball. Stripping the bed only made things worse, as the mattress had multiple yellow stains across the top and sides. The night stand was covered in crumbs, the rug under the bed needed a serious wash and the surrounding floor was overall covered in dust and debris. Behind the bed, was a lovely family of bugs and dust. Moving on, the bathroom sink and shower had some hairs of their own and the shower head was about chest level, so i’m unsure how anyone would actually use it. The kitchen, of course, had food bits in the sink and the plates and dishes appeared used, but not washed. While everything was cute if you squinted a bit, the cleanliness of the property made it uncomfortable at best. On top of it all, trying to contact the host was virtually impossible. They were made aware of the issue taking over 7 hours to respond to my initial message, and never responding to my follow up. Overall would not recommend!
