We stayed at Grand Fiesta for our honeymoon and, overall, the experience was just okay—unfortunately not enough for us to return.
On our second day, I got severe food poisoning after eating at the Italian restaurant. It was so severe that I could barely walk. The on-site doctor charged $300 USD just for a consultation, which felt excessive given the situation. During this time, I asked room service for something simple like a smoothie and was told they could not provide one. There were many promises made by staff throughout our stay that were never followed through on.
The room itself was very underwhelming and did not resemble the photos we selected online—it felt plain and lacked character. Considering this was our honeymoon, we were disappointed that there were no gestures, acknowledgments, or efforts made to make the stay feel special or to thank us for choosing this resort.
While the property itself is beautiful, the experience did not align with expectations of a five-star resort. Even basic necessities felt overpriced—the gift shop charging $50 USD for Benadryl was shocking.
Entertainment was also very subpar. The resort has a very mature crowd, with mostly older guests or young children, often with little in between. There were no standout events or engaging activities, and nothing that felt fun, modern, or honeymoon-appropriate.
