If I praise too much, I'll not be able to find rental time windows in the future, so I'll keep it short. This is the best place to rent in coastal Down East Maine...full stop. It is for us, at least. Decide what you want before you start searching for a summer rental: A camp...minimal accomodations, perhaps even an out house; A cottage...more or less complete with a small home feel; A summer home...this is what Mainly is...complete and comfortable in every way, and you can simply let the rest of the world slide off your shoulders. Clean, comfortable, accomodating, welcoming, highly useful, everyting works well. Enough said.

This was our third time in the Mainley Cabin. We fly all the way from California just for this perfection. Nothing beats this location. It’s so quiet and peaceful yet with all modern conveniences. We are so happy we came back for our second year at the cabin! October was the most perfect time to come. We spent our days hiking the trails around Lubec and walking the beach at the cabin. The kids loved kayaking and roasting marshmallows on the fire. Once again, the house was spotless when we arrived. There were games and snacks for the kids, treats and things for the dog, and toiletries in case we forgot anything. We absolutely love the peaceful location of the cabin, and can’t wait to come back next year!

We had an amazingly peaceful time at the cabin. The sunrise over the water was beautiful and you can't get enough of the starry sky at night. We walked the rocky beach with our dog who also had a wonderful time. Such a relaxing place to just sit and take in the beauty and wildlife. We'll definitely be back!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous vacation rental, and it was everything we hoped for and more! First and foremost, being dog-friendly was a huge plus for us. Our four-legged family members loved exploring the spacious yard and the beach. It was so nice to have him with us on this trip! The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views of the water that you can’t get enough of. We spent the mornings sipping coffee on the deck, watching eagles, and taking in the serene surroundings. Inside, the cabin was welcoming and cozy. The bedding was so comfortable that we slept well every night. Everything was well-stocked, from kitchen essentials to cozy blankets, making us feel right at home. Overall, this vacation rental exceeded our expectations in every way. We can’t wait to return for another unforgettable stay! Highly recommend!

The Mainely Cabin is a wonderful, peaceful place to spend some time in Lubec. The hosts and property manager are some of the nicest hosts, actually nicest people, you could ever hope to meet. The views and access to Cobscook Bay are priceless We will definitely return at our next opportunity!

Oh my lord, this place is absolutely gorgeous. I initially booked the stay for my boyfriends birthday. Not only was it worth the price, but it was absolutely worth the 7+ hour drive! By the time we arrived (early evening), we walked the beach quick- and immediately saw seals pop their curious heads out of the water, and with the sunset background I can just say it was magical. The weekend continued to be picturesque from there. We stayed up overnight to enjoy the sunrise- that was the most beautiful experience to date. Carla was super helpful and responsive, we definitely appreciated her! The house was immaculately clean and had all the amenities. Of course I'd be remiss to not mention the cute little town of Lubec itself! What a perfectly quaint town for a beautiful birthday dinner. Please, I recommend this to anyone and everyone- and will hope to enjoy this property again next year. Thank you so much!

The owners, the manager, the house, the town. Everything is perfect about this place. Hoping to call Maine home someday.

We love staying at the cabin. The owners are very friendly and quick to respond. The cabin itself is so cozy and welcoming. We love that we are able to take our two dogs as well. It’s a great place to detach from the stresses of everyday life and enjoy peace and nature.

We were so happy with our stay and the overall service experience. The host and her property manager were extremely responsive and eager to maximize our experience. this place is HEAVEN! Instead of repeating all the accurate, wonderful comments about the property and incredibly responsive hosts, I’ll cite some of our favorite details: impeccably clean (and we are very picky), more storage than you could ever use, champagne glasses!, bedside mini-flashlights, people and pet baskets of goodies, stocked supplies including toiletries and first aid kit, eagles flying by!, at least 8 different cozy, comfy places to relax with gorgeous views, awesome firepit with tons of seasoned wood to burn, extra fridge/freezer in basement, spacious bathroom with lovely stacks of pristine towels neatly folded in the plentiful drawers and shelves, super cool laundry chute to basement washer/dryer. Also love no big box stores anywhere, countless places to hike, Small Town Takeout lobster rolls, Monica’s chocolates, yarn/pet store next to cute ice cream/gift shop, Eastern most point in US (Quoddy) just a few miles down the road with incredible views and trails. Experiencing Reversing Falls is a must-do.

From arrival to departure our stay was perfect. We enjoyed a rainy day relaxing and watching birds and tide come and go. The sunny days were great for beach walking, taking advantage of great hiking trails we could walk to right from the cabin. Cooking dinner out on the charcoal grill, enjoying dessert on the screen porch. Just a nice, quiet, week to festers and enjoy rural northern Maine in this cozy cabin.

Our trip to Lubec and at this cabin was by far the best vacation our family has taken. Lubec is such a sweet little town and the house was absolutely perfect. The house was spotless when we arrived. The setup is beautiful with the perfect loft area overlooking the water. The kids had the best time kayaking and walking the beach each day. It was so worth the long drive and we can’t wait to come back next summer.

We loved our stay at the cabin! The views of Johnson's bay and Eastport were awesome. We were able to take advantage of and enjoy the fire pit and kayaks provided with the cabin. Our pup also loved the easy beach access to go swimming every day. It's a great location for exploring Lubec and the surrounding area. Our hosts are very gracious in providing many extras to make the stay most enjoyable! Highly recommend!

We loved our 6 night stay here. The cabin was as described and well furnished. They even had some basic food items and snacks which were very appreciated when we arrived after everything had closed. The kitchen was well equipped and everything worked well. They even had well seasoned firewood in the basement, making fires a breeze. We'll definitely be returning.

We had a lovely time staying at this property — the view is impeccable (sunrises through the window in the morning from the bedroom), meals on the porch, reading and relaxation on the hammock, firepits and shooting stars at night. My communication with the hosts was timely and effortless. They were incredibly helpful and warm. There are a couple of other smaller camps on the property (not in eye distance from the house) but we had several friendly run-ins with others as they made their way down to the beach. Not total seclusion but damn near close. Thank you for a lovely visit. A much needed rest - now back to work!

I loved staying here. The house has lots of charm and a terrific view. We went to Lubec to hike and relax. If you are looking for a vacation to get away from your fast paced, busy routine, this is a great option. And the coastal views in the Lubec area cannot be beaten.

This was literally, hands down, the BEST vacation Vrbo stay we’ve ever had. The owners are so communicative, even though we never NEEDED them. Such an easy experience. Perfect cabin. Perfect location. Perfect weather (we stayed in October). I cannot rave about this place enough. It was just me and my husband, we left our teenager at home with family. I’d say this is a vacation place to get “away” from it all. There is excellent service (Wi-Fi etc) but it feels so secluded. My teen said she was so glad she didn’t go because “hiking, lighthouses, sea glass, seafood, Canada, puzzles and books are lame”! Lol PERFECT FOR US! Highly recommended!!! Thanks to Damon and Jamie!
